Abstract

Aceh waters are a place for fishermen to look for fish, one of which was flying fish (Decapratus sp.) which was landed at the Lampulo Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS), North Aceh. Flying fish (Decapratus sp.) was a fishery commodity that was in great demand by people globally, especially in Indonesia. This research aims to measure the length and weight of flying fish (Decapratus sp.) using survey and analysis methods. The results of this research obtained a value for the total number of fish which was 50 fish. With the overall sample length of fish ranging from 140 mm to 205 mm, the dominant total length of fish caught was in the average range of 166.28 mm. Meanwhile, the weight of flying fish (Decapterus sp.) ranges from 31 to 76 grams, with an average fish weight of 46.06 grams. The calculation result of the b value obtained from testing the flying fish (Decapterus sp.) at the Pematangsiantar Parbesaran Market was 2.68, with the r2 value being 0.89. Based on the b value obtained, it can be stated that the length and weight of the fish was < 3, which means negative allometric meaning that length growth is faster than weight growth.

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the introduced fish species that is commonly cultivated in Indonesia. Tilapia cultivation in Indonesia has experienced a lot of improvement with the emergence of several breeding strains of tilapia. According to the KKP (2018), tilapia production in 2016 was 1,114,156 tons, in 2017 and 2018 tilapia production increased again with amounts of 1,265,201 tons and 1,169,144 tons respectively. The activity of growing seeds in fish is the beginning of activities in cultivation, most importantly because it can influence subsequent activities, namely nursery and rearing of broodstock. Overall hatchery includes brood care, brood sorting, breeding and larval rearing. Fish hatchery is one part of fish farming activities by mating broodstock to get young that are ready to be marketed. This article is the result of community service activities to provide material about tilapia fish hatcheries through outreach, so that people can carry out their own tilapia fish hatcheries.

Abstract

One of the worst areas of marine environmental pollution is the Strait of Malacca because this Strait is busy with ships, especially giant tankers. The ecology of the Strait of Malacca is currently threatened with very severe pollution. The purpose of this study was to identify the air quality conditions in Kwala Indah Village, Sei Suka District, Malacca Strait Waters. The method used in this study is the purposive sampling method using the calculation of water pollution index at 3 sampling locations. Determination of water quality status using the pollution index method according to the Decree of the Minister of Environment 115/2003. The parameters observed and measured are 12 parameters using the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) method for measuring water and waste quality, including physical properties (temperature, brightness, current speed, salinity) and chemical properties (pH, dissolved oxygen, Biological oxygen demand, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Orthophosphate and Silica. The pollution index in the waters of the Malacca Strait in Kwala Indah Village is included in the lightly polluted category with an average temperature of 28.78-29 °C, pH 7.57-8.16, BOD 14.38-14.45 mg/l and DO 2.2-2.6 mg/l. The strategy for controlling pollution in the Malacca Strait can be carried out by reducing the pollution load, namely by involving the community in environmental management.
