Abstract

Updates in technological innovation in the field of Education, especially English will be urgently needed. Technology in Education has revolutionized manual teaching and learning on an innovative, open-source basis. One of the innovations based on Open-Source Software (OSS) is Electronic Reading (E-Reading). It is designed for EFL class, especially in reading, so that it can run actively and innovatively based on a curriculum that will be packaged attractively and creatively so students can easily accept it. This study discusses based innovation between teaching reading and OSS sophistication compared to previous teaching techniques. This article limits how an OSS can make learning more conducive and productive. As a result, E-Reading strives to provide a beneficial experience for students in learning Reading with full features in the latest version and will be in accordance with the current English learning curriculum.

Abstract

The problem in lack of reading literacy in Indonesia has become a crucial challenge. In the era of 5.0, this problem must be solved to realize the better future of Indonesian Golden Age in 2045. Therefore, the purpose of this article was to address the problem in reading literacy by utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) in creating Digital Library (DL), and how GARY as a new concept can be used. The present article used conceptual research design particularly in conceptual models and specifically using conceptual description.  This article signified for academics to support the literature review as references for their empirical researches. The findings showed that GARY became a new concept of AR-based library game application to increase students' interest in reading literacy. Moreover, the present article provided a gateway to the empirical study of DL by integrating AR. Future research could examine on the impact of DL by integrating AR.

Abstract

This article investigates and proposes a conceptual design for developing a cloud-based web platform to enhance the English proficiency learning of higher education students. Cloud-based web tools can help students overcome barriers such as a lack of practice opportunities, speaking anxiety, and less intensive feedback. There are many offerings of MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning) as a medium to help students develop their speaking skills. However, there is still a lack of MALL offerings for speaking learning in the form of cloud-based web applications, which limits students' access. This is because students often need to install the application first or use applications that can only be supported on a single device, such as a smartphone. Therefore, this conceptual article presents the design of SPORA (Speaking for Academic), a cloud-based web platform designed to enhance students' speaking skills through a structured and interactive digital approach. SPORA has been designed with several key features, including a space for practice questions aligned with curriculum standards, directed feedback (via chat box or two-way audio), and a CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standardized assessment rubric. In addition, this article also examines the potential of SPORA in technological challenges and innovations integrated with education to fulfill students' learning needs to the fullest. SPORA is presented as a cloud-based solution that opens up further research into its development and practical implementation across a range of speaking learning contexts for higher education students.
