Abstract

In this thesis the author discusses the Moral Values in Short Stories Composing Lessons by Seno Gumira Ajidarma and the Implications for Language Learning in Indonesian Middle Schools. This research aims to describe the form of conveying moral values in the short story "Writing Lessons" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research with content analysis methods (literature study). The focus of the research is on the form of moral values contained in the short story "Lesson of Writing" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The technique used in this research uses note-reading techniques, in the form of words, sentences and paragraphs. The results of the research obtained 3 forms of moral values in the short story "Lesson of Writing" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, namely, there are 6 data on the human relationship with oneself, 4 data on the human relationship with other people and 2 data on the human relationship with God. The results of this research can be applied to contribute to Indonesian language learning regarding moral values in short stories.

Abstract

The research was carried out using Classroom Action Research (PTK) which used two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The research subjects were 25 students in class VIII C of Jagakarsa Middle School. The variable revealed in the research is Discussion Skills Through the Two Stay Two Stray Technique Learning Model. Data collection techniques use test instruments and non-test instruments in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the research show an increase in poetry writing discussion skills using the Two Stay Two Stray technique learning model in class VIII C of Jagakarsa Middle School. The percentage of students' completion in writing poetry in the pre-cycle reached 28% and was still less than the set standard for completion, namely 75%. The percentage of completion in cycle I reached 48%. This is also still less than the specified completion limit. In cycle II the percentage of completion reached 80% and had met the specified completion limit.
