Abstract

 Every religious believer has various social interaction distortions. Likewise, the orientation that is presented experiences a distraction of thought from individuals toward the problem of religious understanding. In line with this, Islam comes with various faces according to the perspectives that some Muslims have claimed. Of course, this is the impact of misunderstandings related to religious understanding that is too fanatical and exclusive. This article will briefly discuss the alignment of the meaning of wasaṭ according to Wahbah Zuhaylī’s thoughts in his tafsir al-Munīr. This article aims to provide a new perspective on the meaning of wasaṭ with the perspective of grammatical and psychological hermeneutics carried out by Schleiermacher. The method used is descriptive analysis with Schleiermacher’s hermeneutic approach of looking for grammatical aspects and psychological aspects. As a result, the term wasaṭ finally reaches the limit of understanding interpretation and dispels the misunderstanding because the distance in tracing is quite comprehensive from the grammatical and psychological sides. At the same time, the harmonization of the meaning of wasaṭ is hermeneutically quite in line with the current conditions of modern society. Problematic issues that continue to grow do not mean that the solution and solution seekers stop but provide opportunities to bring up various solutions from the perspectives seen by the community.

Abstract

Abstract The concept of prophethood is a complex topic to discuss, especially in terms of the role that prophets play and the messages that they bring from God. The Quran and the Deuterocanonical books offer different perspectives on this concept, with similarities and differences in their understanding of the role of prophets, their responsibilities, and the messages they convey. This qualitative-descriptive study examines the concept of prophethood in the Quran and Deuterocanonical books, focusing on the similarities and differences between the two. The study uses library research as a method to collect and analyze data from literature. The findings of the study indicate that both the Quran and Deuterocanonical books emphasize the importance of prophethood and the messages that prophets bring from God. However, there are differences in how the two texts understand the status and name of the prophet, as well as their role and tasks. The study concludes that a comparative approach to understanding the concept of prophethood can lead to a deeper and more nuanced appreciation of this important aspect of religious belief. It also emphasizes the importance of dialogue and mutual respect between different religious traditions

Abstract

Artikel ini menjelaskan mengenai interpretasi makna wasaṭiyyah dalam ayat al-Quran, namun penulis mengkhususkan pada surat al-Baqarah ayat 143.  Interpretasi yang ditujukan yaitu melalui perspektif al-Maraghi dalam tafsir al-Maraghi. Sesuai dengan persoalan term wasaṭiyyah yang begitu varian juga tidak sedikit derivasi kata wasaṭ, maka banyak problematika pada era saat ini. Terutama dengan istilah “Islam moderat” yang banyak dimanipulasi oleh oknum tidak bertanggungjawab sampai menghilangkan citra Islam bahkan Islam itu sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui makna wasaṭiyyah secara terperinci melalui perspektif Mustafa al-Maraghi. Cara yang digunakan dalam menjawab persoalan ini menggunakan library research (kajian pustaka). Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bagaimana al-Maraghi memberikan makna “wasaṭiyyah” atau dalam kata “wasaṭa” tersebut memiliki ciri sikap yang terpuji tidak kemudian cenderung kepada perilaku ekstrim; dalam hal ini ia menjelaskan sikap berlebih-lebihan dan sikap mengurangi sesuatu yang sudah dibatasi oleh Allah SWT.

Abstract

Muhammad ‘Ali As-Sabuni provides the principles of wasatiyyah represented in the terms of peace which are reformulated through his interpretation. This formulation certainly has a new character in the concept of wasatiyyah initiated by Muhammad ‘Ali As-Sabuni. To deepen the concept, the researcher departed from two problem formulations. based on this search, this research answers two important problems; a) how is the construction of Muhammad ‘Ali As-Sabuni's interpretation of the meaning of wasat, b) what is the conceptual offer of Muhammad ‘Ali As-Sabuni's interpretation of the discourse of religious moderation in the context of peace. The method used in this research is descriptive-analysis with the type of library research (library research). While the type of data analysis method uses critical analysis. The results/findings of this research show three principles of the meaning of wasat, namely: wasatiyyah as a bridge of religious moderation, wasatiyyah in social interaction, and wasatiyyah in interfaith relations. based on the results of the thinking initiated by Muhammad ‘Ali As-Sabuni, it builds an interpretative construction that gives birth to a moderate-humanist discourse in creating religious harmony. This finding certainly opens the discourse of moderation to modern society as well as answering that the meaning of wasat is not only limited to narrow textual assumptions but provides a color of peace built on inter-religious harmony.

Abstract

Salah satu ciri Nabi dan Rasul yang dipilih oleh Allah SWT adalah penyeru dakwah kepada jalan yang benar serta memberikan bimbingan, pelajaran dan hikmah bagi keberlangsungan manusia hidup di dunia. Nabi Nuh AS dalam Al-Qur’an dan Al-Kitab dengan jelas sudah memberikan pelajaran penting untuk diambil pengalaman, pelajaran dan hikmah kehidupan dibalik misi kenabian Nuh AS. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengungkap misi kenabian Nuh AS, baik dari Al-Qur’an dan Al-Kitab, kemudian bagaimana silver lining yang ada dalam narasi misi kenabian Nuh AS, dan juga bagaimana implikasi dan relevansinya pada masyarakat modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-komparatif dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Nabi Nuh AS adalah seorang Nabi dan Rasul bahkan termasuk dari Ulul Azmi yang diperintahkan oleh Allah SWT untuk menyeru kepada kaumnya agar bertaqwa dan berserah diri kepada Allah SWT, atau dalam redaksi Al-Kitab diperintahkan untuk kembali kepada Tuhan dan memberikan kebaikan kepada manusia. Adapun silver lining dibalik misi kenabian Nuh AS terkonsep dalam rasa syukur, kesabaran, ketaatan atas perintah Allah SWT, dan menjadi hikmah untuk keberlangsungan kehidupan masyarakat modern.
