Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil literatur review diperoleh 10 jurnal, dengan variasi daun tanaman antara lain daun kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) daun afrika (Vernonia amygdalina Del.), daun salam (Eugenia polyantha), daun sirsak (Annona muricata L.), daun kesambi (Schleira oleosa), daun patikala (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm), daun putri malu (Mimosa pudica Linn), daun gedi hijau (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik), daun ciplukan (Physalisan gulata L.), daun mangga (Mangifera indica L.). Kata Kunci: Daun Kesambi, Daun Kersen, Daun Sirsak, Daun Afrika, Daun Salam  Free radicals can affect human health, so we need antioxidant compounds that can counteract free radicals. This study aims to identify antioxidant compounds found in various plant leaves using the DPPH method. The literature review writing method uses journal searches from Google Scholar, and Publish or Perish which were published in 2014 – 2022 with various keywords. Based on the results of the literature review, 10 journals were obtained, with various types of plant kersen leaves (Mangifera indica L.), African leaves (Vernonia amygdalina Del.), salam leaves (Eugenia polyantha), soursop leaves ( Annona muricata L.), kesambi leaves (Schleira oleosa), patikala leaves (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M.Sm), putri malu leaves (Mimosa pudica Linn), gedi hijau leaves (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik), ciplukan leaves ( Physalis gulata L.), mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.). The strongest antioxidant results were found in kersen leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) with IC50 values of 6.82 ppm and 9.01 ppm through the maceration extraction process. The antioxidant activity in the weakest category was African leaf (Vernonia amygdalina Del) with an IC50 value of 371.98 ppm and 557.058 ppm through the maceration extraction process.

Abstract

The renewal of the curriculum from 2013 to the Merdeka curriculum emphasizes the importance of developing the characteristics of the Pancasila Student Profile in education through project-based learning, such as practicums. However, practicums on voltaic cell material often use expensive kits, while there is an alternative using bio-battery media from avocado peel waste, which is more environmentally friendly and economical. This research aims to utilize avocado peel waste as a substitute for commercial batteries, in the hope of reducing battery waste and providing an environmentally friendly and inexpensive practicum design, as well as building the characteristics of the pancasila student profile. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, consisting of literature study, experimentation, and interview stages. The results showed variations in voltage and current strength produced by avocado peel bio-batteries depending on the variety of avocado peel and the length of fermentation time. Although the variation in avocado peel variety does not result in a significant difference, the electrical energy produced shows the potential of using this practicum in improving students' understanding and building the characteristics of the pancasila student profile.
