Abstract

This study aims to determine how the English teachers implement Curriculum 2013 in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The implementation of Curriculum 2013 requires teachers to organize effective learning. There are at least five things that need to be considered with regard to the organization of learning in the implementation of Curriculum 2013, the implementation of learning, procurement and development experts, utilization of expertise and resources of the community, as well as the development and structuring policy. The successful learning in the implementation of the Curriculum 2013 is the entire process of learning, competence and character formation of students is planned. For this purpose, the core competencies, basic competencies, material standards, indicators of learning outcomes, and time should be set in accordance with the interests of learning so that learners are expected to have the opportunity and the optimal learning experience. This study was a descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive because it describes about the characteristics of a phenomenon being studied, and this study described about the English teachers’ perception and implementation in the Curriculum 2013. There were two variables in this study, the first one were the English teachers’ perception and the second one was implementation of the 2013 curriculum. The participants in this study there were two English teachers’ in SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor. The data of the study used documentation of Curriculum 2013, interview, and observation. Descriptive qualitative data analysis used in this study was adopted from the qualitative data analysis techniques of Huberman (1994) that was data reduction, data display, and verification. The result of the study shows that the English teachers’ perception at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi found difficulties to implement the Curriculum 2013 before they followed the socialization and after they followed the socialization the English teachers have been trying to be professional in designing affective and meaningful learning process, learning organizations, learning approach, procedure and establishing effective competencies, as well as setting criteria for success. Besides, the implementation of Curriculum 2013 has been done by the English teachers at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor.

Abstract

The background of this research was how to increasing students’ learning English speaking motivation, a factor that also influences student success in speaking English. Students with great motivation in speaking English will be able to carry out all their learning activities seriously, students learning English speaking at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor was quite good, it can be seen from the many trophies won and displayed in front of the teacher's room at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor and their enthusiastic students when participating in the learning English speaking teaching and learning process. This study aimed to find out how the efforts made by SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor teachers in increasing students' learning English speaking motivation. This research was qualitative research that took place at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Research subjects were people who know, relate to and become actors of an activity that was expected to provide information. Data analysis was carried out by giving meaning from the data collected, and from that meaning conclusions were drawn. The result of this study was to find out how the efforts made by the teacher in increasing students' learning English speaking motivation at SMP Lab. Hamzanwadi Pancor. The efforts made by teachers in increasing learning English speaking motivation include: explaining learning objectives to students, linking lessons with past lessons, using learning media, changing learning places, providing opportunities for students to ask questions, providing practice questions, assignments and homework. giving value to student work, holding competitions, giving praise, and giving reprimands.

Abstract

Many students as English foreign language learners failed in learning to speak English. They must have a strong willingness and mentality to speak smoothly and fluently. English teachers have a high demanded to produce an appropriate method in teaching speaking for their students in the classroom. Speaking will become easier and more effective if an appropriate method is based on students’ ability and era. This study focused on teaching speaking through Quizizz. The research problems were (1) To what extent is the attainment of teaching speaking through Quizizz? (2) To what extent is the effect of using Quizizz in teaching speaking? This study was experimental. It consisted of two groups among 40 students, which were divided into 20 students as the experimental group and 20 as the control group. This study used speaking tests in Quizizz and hypothesis testing. Based on the results, the results showed that pre-test scores in the experimental group had the lowest score was 33 and the highest was 69, while in the post-test, they obtained the lowest score of 57 and the highest was 84. Besides, in the control group, the lowest score was 31 and the highest score was 49, while in the post-test, the lowest score was 43 and the highest score was 65. The Mean scores obtained by the experimental group in pre-test and post-test were 47.8 and 67, with a standard deviation of 8.71 and 7.394. The mean score obtained by the control group in the pre-test and post-test was 6.629 and 5.244. Thus, the T-test was higher than the T-table, which meant teaching speaking through Quizizz could increase students’ speaking ability. The hypothesis was accepted, and the null hypothesis was rejected.

Abstract

Teknologi dan pembelajaran dapat diintegrasikan sehingga dapat memudahkan guru dan siswa dalam proses belajar di kelas. Saat ini guru harus menggunakan teknologi dalam mengajar agar motivasi dan ketertarikan siswa dalam belajar semakin tinggi. Kemajuan dalam bidang teknologi membawa perubahan pada berbagai bidang termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Madrasah Tsanawiyah swasta telah berkontribusi dan memegang peranan yang strategis dalam memajukan pendidikan di kabupaten Lombok Timur karena jumlahnya yang banyak. Fokus pengabdian terhadap permasalahan yang mengarah kepada guru Bahasa Inggris di Madrasah Tsanawiyah yang memiliki kekurangan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam teknologi. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan teknologi pada pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan Partisipatory Action Research (PAR) tujuanya menghasilkan kegiatan yang partisipatif dan kolaboratif antara subjek atau peserta kegiatan dengan fasilitator. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap bertambahnya pengetahuan, keterampilan, pengalaman dan motivasi guru dan juga siswa. Merubah mindset guru yang konservatif menjadi modern. Guru dapat mengimplementasikan teknologi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di kelas sesuai dengan materi yang didapat pada kegiatan pengabdian. Guru dapat mengintegrasikan teknologi dan materi Bahasa Inggris dalam mengajar.

Abstract

Potensi perempuan di Lombok banyak yang bergerak di bisnis ritel dan kreaktif. Telah banyak desa di Lombok bermetaposis menjadi desa wisata baik kategori persiapan dan berkembang sehingga peran perempuan semakin dibutuhkan dalam pengembangan desa wisata. Peran perempuan lebih banyak diberdayakan dalam bidang kuliner, tenun, crafting dan jual sembako sebagai kebutuhan sehari-hari baik bagi wisatawan dan masyarakat. Tujuan pendampingan ini adalah: (1) Mendampingi komunitas perempuan Desa Jeruk Manis terhadap pengembangan sumber daya manusia melalui jasa kuliner berbasis wisata. (2) Membantu fasilitator dan komunitas perempuan dalam kegiatan aksi perubahan melalui pembinaan jasa kuliner berbasis wisata. Metode yang digunakan partisipatory action research (PAR) tujuanya menghasilkan kegiatan yang partisipatif dan kolaboratif antara peserta kegiatan dengan fasilitator. Pengumpulan dan analisis data awal yang digunakan adalah participatory rural appraisal (PRA) yang merupakan pendekatan dalam proses pemberdayaan kapasitas masyarakat dan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam keseluruhan kegiatan yang dilakukan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan Pemerintah Desa Jeruk Manis dan lembaga desa ikut berperan aktif dalam kegiatan pembinaan berlansung sampai kegiatan selesai. Terbangunya interest masyarakat dan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam kuliner berbasis wisata dengan mengedepankan khas produk desa wisata Jeruk Manis. Komunitas perempuan yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pembinaan menunjukkan kemampuan yang bagus dalam menyajikan kuliner dan produk khas desa Jeruk Manis dengan mengintegrasikan dengan kegiatan wisata. Komunitas perempuan dapat menawarkan produk kuliner dengan menghubungkan dengan budaya dan tradisi di desa Jeruk Manis. Pengembangan kuliner berbasis wisata dapat membuka peluang ekonomi, menjaga kelestarian budaya dan memperkenalkan desa Jeruk Manis ke dunia luar.
