Abstract

This study aims to analyze the achievement of product service differentiation and develop a differentiation development strategy at HKBP Nommensen University, Pematangsiantar. The urgency of the research is that there has been a decline in productivity over the past 4 years (2021-2024) as seen from the failure to achieve the target number of new student registrations, namely 1200 new students per year. Therefore, the researcher took the indicator of developing an expansion strategy through the SWOT variable aspect (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) as a reference in improving service products and productivity, especially increasing new student admissions. The intended output in the study is the publication of a sinta 4 (four) accredited journal. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach. The aim is to provide a complete picture, summarize various conditions, situations from various data that have been collected at HKBP Nommensen University, Pematangsiantar. The research subjects were selected by purposive sampling. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Make A Match terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) kelas VII di UPTD SMP Negeri 12 Pematangsiantar Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu kelas VII-4 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model Make A Match, dan kelas VII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional (ceramah), masing-masing berjumlah 32 siswa.Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 butir soal yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya beda. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan bahwa semua butir soal valid (r hitung > r tabel = 0,349), dengan koefisien validitas tertinggi 0,7344 dan terendah 0,3542. Reliabilitas instrumen mencapai 0,860 > 0,396, sehingga tes dikategorikan reliabel. Uji normalitas data menunjukkan kedua kelas berdistribusi normal (X² hitung < X² tabel), dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan kedua kelompok bersifat homogen (F hitung = 1,028 < F tabel = 1,804).Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 80 dengan standar deviasi 10,36, sedangkan kelas kontrol memiliki rata-rata 72,375 dengan standar deviasi 10,07. Uji t menunjukkan t hitung = 2,93 > t tabel = 1,67, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar kedua kelas. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Make A Match berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS, dan lebih efektif dibandingkan metode konvensional.
