Abstract

Optimal growth and development, WHO/UNICEF Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding recommends 4 important things that must be done, including: giving breast milk to babies immediately within 30 minutes after the baby is born, giving only breast milk or giving exclusive breast milk from birth until the baby is 6 months old, giving MP-ASI from the time the baby is 6 months old to 24 months or more (Yuliarti, 2010). What was found was that there were mothers who were not able to breastfeed their babies directly because breast milk production was little or non-existent. Oxytocin massage has become a therapy that can reduce levels of Adenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) and which helps the secretion of hormones and prolactin so that breast milk production runs smoothly. To increase public knowledge, especially breastfeeding mothers, about oxytocin massage, health education can be carried out (Purnama, 2013). The aim of this service is to provide education to breastfeeding mothers about oxytocin massage to help produce and express breast milk so that babies get enough breast milk. The methods used are counseling and demonstration or practice of implementing oxytocin massage. From the community service activities carried out at BPM Jamilah in July 2024 on 31 breastfeeding mothers, we can see significant results regarding the ability of breastfeeding mothers to answer questions asked by the presenters and the willingness of mothers and families to practice oxytocin massage.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the prevalence of genital infections due to poor genital hygiene is estimated to reach 90–100 cases per 100,000 population per year. Globally, approximately 75% of women have experienced vaginal discharge at least once in their lifetime, 45% of them have experienced it more than once, and approximately 25% of women in Europe have experienced vaginal discharge. In Indonesia, 75% of women have experienced vaginal discharge at least once, and 45% have experienced it more than once. This condition shows the importance of education about reproductive organ hygiene, especially for adolescent girls who are experiencing puberty. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of female students of SMPN 1 Sungai Tebelian about menstrual hygiene behavior through structured counseling. The activity implementation method includes four stages, namely (1) initial survey, (2) approach to the school, (3) activity socialization, and (4) presentation of counseling materials. Knowledge measurement was carried out before and after the activity using a questionnaire, then analyzed using a Paired Sample Test. The results showed that before the counseling, all respondents (37 female students) were in the sufficient knowledge category (100%). After the counseling and post-test, all respondents experienced an increase in knowledge so that they were in the good category (100%). The results of the Paired Sample Test analysis showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (<0.05), which indicated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. The conclusion of this activity is that health counseling has a positive and significant influence on increasing female students' knowledge about menstrual hygiene behavior. Education that is carried out interactively and adapted to the characteristics of adolescents has proven effective in encouraging better understanding, so it is hoped that it can prevent reproductive health problems in adolescent girls in the future.

Abstract

The Triple Elimination Program is an important initiative to prevent the transmission of HIV, Hepatitis B, and Syphilis from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. The goal of this program is to improve the well-being of mothers and babies, while reducing the transmission rate of these diseases that can endanger the health of both. This community service activity was carried out in Sungai Maram Village, Sintang, on July 16, 2025. The main target of this activity was 40 pregnant women, who were the objects of the infectious disease education and prevention program. To ensure the effectiveness of this activity, participant knowledge was measured using a pretest and posttest method. The pretest was conducted before the material was delivered to determine the participants' initial level of knowledge, while the posttest was conducted after the material was delivered to measure the extent of the participants' understanding of the information that had been presented. The material presented in this activity covered the three main diseases that are the focus of Triple Elimination, namely HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B. In addition, participants were also provided with information on ways to prevent transmission of these diseases during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. In addition, participants were taught the importance of regular checkups, proper medication use, and steps to protect the health of mothers and babies. The results of this activity are expected to raise awareness among pregnant women about the importance of preventing infectious diseases and provide useful information to maintain their health and that of their unborn babies. Thus, this program not only prevents disease transmission but also contributes to the overall well-being of the community. Furthermore, this activity also aims to strengthen community participation in preventing the transmission of HIV, Hepatitis B, and Syphilis.
