Abstract

Background: Premarital sexual activity among adolescents is a growing public health concern in Indonesia. Adolescents often rely on parents, teachers, and peers as primary sources of reproductive health information. However, their influence on sexual behavior remains underexplored in large-scale national surveys. This study aims to analyze the relationship between reproductive health information sources and adolescent sexual behavior using data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI). Methods: A cross-sectional design was used with a quantitative approach, involving 10,643 unmarried adolescents aged 15–24 years. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square tests to assess associations between information sources (parents, teachers, and peers) and adolescent sexual behavior Results: The results of this study showed that (There was a significant relationship between information sources from parents (p = 0.000), teachers (p = 0.003), and peers (p = 0.000) and adolescent sexual behavior.Implications: Strengthening communication between parents and children, optimizing the role of teachers in reproductive health education, and empowering peer groups can contribute to reducing risky sexual behaviors in adolescents.

Abstract

Abstrak: Anak-anak di Dusun Sambiroto sering menggunakan gawai tanpa pengawasan orang tua. Kebiasaan tersebut dapat mengganggu proses berkembangnya karakter pada anak. Penyuluhan parenting dan penerapan papan kuis ini sebagai media pembelajaran dan bermain untuk mengembangkan karakter anak. Program ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan wawasan orang tua, meningkatkan kreativitas, serta menumbuhkan budaya literasi masyarakat. Mitra dalam pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat RW 06 yakni 40 orang tua dan 50 anak-anak. Pengabdian ini dilakukan menggunakan penyuluhan dan penerapan media papan kuis secara langsung. Masyarakat sangat antusias dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini. Melalui evaluasi berupa 10 soal pilihan ganda yang diisi sebelum dan setelah kegiatan dapat diketahui peningkatan pengetahuan tentang mengelola penggunaan gawai pada anak dari 72% sebelum penyuluhan, menjadi 90% setelah penyuluhan. Dengan demikian, metode penyuluhan dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman orang tua mengenai pengasuhan parenting dan pengelolaan penggunaan gawai pada anak.Abstract: Children in Sambiroto Hamlet often use gadgets without parental supervision. These habits can disrupt the process of character development in children. Parenting counseling and applying this quiz board as a medium for learning and playing to develop children's character. This program aims to increase parents' knowledge and insight, increase creativity, and foster a culture of community literacy. Partners in this service are the RW 06 community, namely 40 parents and 50 children. This service is carried out using psychoeducation and the direct application of quiz board media. The community is very enthusiastic about implementing this service. Through an evaluation in the form of 10 multiple choice questions filled in before and after the activity, knowledge about managing the use of devices in children has increased from 72% before psychoeducation to 90% after psychoeducation. Thus, the lecture method can increase parents' understanding of parenting and managing children's use of devices.
