Abstract

Background: Resilience is defined as a personal quality that allows a person to thrive in the face of adversity and the ability to survive in overcoming stress. In Indonesia, research on resilience instruments has been conducted, but it is still limited to population samples and is still specific to academic resilience. Objective: This study aims to modify the resilience measurement tool with the cultural context in Indonesia, namely The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) with its five dimensions of personal competence, spirituality, self-acceptance, self-control, and self-confidence. Method: This study uses quantitative methods, data analysis used is factorial analysis with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC). Results: The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) is a model fit resilience measurement tool according to the Indonesian context which consists of 23 items with participants of student groups with undergraduate & postgraduate education levels. Conclusion: This study successfully modified and simplified the resilience measurement tool, The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) into a fit model of resilience measurement tools according to the Indonesian context.

Abstract

TikTok has a personalized algorithm and is designed with a user-centered approach, which raises concerns about the impact it will have on cognitive function and user behavior. There is a lack of literature that discusses the integration of topics between the impact of TikTok algorithms on cognitive function and user behavior. This study uses the literature review method by collecting and selecting relevant literature from various databases to compile information about the impact of using TikTok on cognitive function and individual behavior in one scientific article. Based on the results of a review of 14 literatures, TikTok has a negative impact on several areas in the brain. The areas affected by using Tiktok are the user's reward system, activation of the default mode network (DMN) and ventral tegmental area (VTA), decreased gray matter volume (GMV) in the amygdala, and affect the hippocampus. Then, the impact of Tiktok on individual behavior includes decreased concentration, impulsivity in making decisions, and addictive behavior. Therefore, the use of TikTok needs to be balanced with awareness of the potential impact behind it and wise choices for its use.TikTok memiliki Algoritma yang dipersonalisasi dan dirancang dengan pendekatan yang berpusat pada pengguna atau user-centered, hal ini menimbulkan kekhawatiran pada dampak yang akan dihasilkan pada fungsi kognitif dan perilaku pengguna. Kurangnya literatur yang membahas mengenai integrasi topik antara dampak algoritma Tiktok pada fungsi kognitif dan perilaku pengguna. Studi ini menggunakan metode literature review dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan dan menyeleksi literatur yang relevan dari berbagai database untuk menghimpun informasi mengenai dampak penggunaan Tiktok pada fungsi kognitif dan perilaku individu dalam satu artikel ilmiah. Berdasarkan hasil tinjauan dari 14 literatur, Tiktok memberi dampak negatif terhadap beberapa area di otak. Area yang terdampak dari penggunaan Tiktok yaitu reward system pengguna, aktivasi area default mode network (DMN) dan ventral tegmental area (VTA), penurunan grey matter volume (GMV) pada amygdala, dan mempengaruhi hippocampus. Kemudian, dampak Tiktok terhadap perilaku individu di antaranya menurunnya konsentrasi, impulsif dalam mengambil keputusan, dan perilaku adiktif. Karenanya, penggunaan Tiktok perlu diimbangin dengan kesadaran akan dampak potensial dibaliknya serta pilihan-pilihan bijak untuk penggunaannya.

Abstract

This research focuses on the leadership challenges of managing Generation Z in Indonesia, a relevant but under-researched topic. This research was conducted using the literature study method, specifically narrative review, as the main approach. Generation Z in the Indonesian workplace presents unique challenges that require special attention due to their different expectations compared to previous generations, such as flexibility, rapid growth opportunities, and collaborative work environments. To address this, leaders need to apply transformational leadership styles that motivate and inspire through strong vision and individual support, increase employee engagement, develop career development programs that match Generation Z's aspirations and implement digital technologies that support work flexibility are key, as well as create harmonious and productive work environments. By implementing these practices, leaders in Indonesia can create an inclusive, supportive and fulfilling work environment for Generation Z. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tantangan kepemimpinan dalam mengelola Generasi Z di Indonesia, sebuah topik yang relevan namun masih kurang diteliti secara mendalam. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode studi literatur, khususnya narrative review, sebagai pendekatan utama. Generasi Z di tempat kerja Indonesia menghadirkan tantangan unik yang memerlukan perhatian khusus karena harapan mereka yang berbeda dibandingkan generasi sebelumnya, seperti fleksibilitas, kesempatan berkembang cepat, dan lingkungan kerja kolaboratif. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, pemimpin perlu menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional yang memotivasi dan menginspirasi melalui visi yang kuat dan dukungan individu, meningkatkan keterlibatan karyawan, mengembangkan program pengembangan karier yang sesuai dengan aspirasi Generasi Z dan mengimplementasikan teknologi digital yang mendukung fleksibilitas kerja adalah kunci penting, serta menciptakan lingkungan kerja harmonis dan produktif. Dengan menerapkan praktik-praktik ini, pemimpin di Indonesia dapat menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang inklusif, mendukung, dan memuaskan bagi Generasi Z.
