Abstract

Abstract: This research talks about the high number of unhealthy politics when holding democratic parties in Indonesia. Money politics to the practice of bringing each other down, is still often carried out when democratic parties take place. As a result of this unhealthy politics, it eventually led to disharmony problems that led to divisions in society. This reality occurs in the Toraja Mamasa Church of the Sapankale Congregation. Based on the data obtained through preliminary observations and interviews, the fact that political practices are unhealthy occurs because the church seems passive and does not take action. This is because the church also does not know how to act towards the ongoing political participation. This paper aims to provide an understanding of the Church's attitude towards political participation which is good and right, so that the church can actively express its prophetic voice by participating in politics. Departing from that problem, using qualitative methods, interviews, and literature, the results of this study provide an understanding that politics has good goals and becomes bad if it is no longer oriented to the interests of society. That is why the Church must present itself as a good example in its participation in political dynamics. This will help church members participate in political activities, so as not to cause problems of disharmony and division. Keywords: Church, politics, Sapankale Congregation, disunity      This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution- -ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) Abstrak: Penelitian ini berbicara tentang tingginya angka politik tidak sehat ketika mengadakan pesta demokrasi di Indonesia. Politik uang hingga praktik saling menjatuhkan, masih sering dilakukan ketika pesta demokrasi berlangsung.

Abstract

The family is the smallest social unit that provides the foundation for children's development and the formation of children's character and personality. The family is also considered the first and main source of education for children, including religious education. But sometimes, the education children get in families is less than optimal, such as in families with broken homes. Christian education that is less than optimal for children can affect their spiritual development; as a result, they become fragile in facing various pressures of life. This study aims to examine the spiritual development of children in broken-home families based on the concept of Christian pedagogy. The method used is qualitative with a biographical study approach. Data was taken by interview and observation techniques. The individual who became the research subject was a young girl at a local church in South Sulawesi. The study results show that child's spirituality in broken-home families is less developed. The psychological pressure she felt made her doubt the existence of God and His love for her. This seems to encourage the child to behave negatively and deviate. Against this condition, parties outside the family, such as the church and others, need to pay serious attention by involving them in the process of religious education that can make them feel the existence of God and His sincere and limited love. An empathetic educational process would bring wounded children closer to God and direct them to a better life.
