Abstract

Everyone, including children, adults, and parents, can experience stress. Academic stress is a common type of stress that occurs in a school or educational environment. Students who face high pressure, such as numerous assignments, may experience stress that can lead to insomnia. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between stress and insomnia in students. Stress is a negative feeling caused by situations beyond one's control or changes in one's body and mind. Insomnia is the inability to achieve adequate quality and quantity of sleep. A literature review study was conducted, with 5 journals obtained from Google Scholar. The study design was cross-sectional. The results showed a significant relationship between stress and insomnia in college students (p <0.05). This means that stress levels have a moderate positive correlation with insomnia levels. In conclusion, it is important for students to learn how to manage their stress levels to prevent insomnia.

Abstract

Early childhood dental health is a crucial issue that requires serious attention, given the high prevalence of dental caries which is influenced by various factors, including inadequate brushing habits and excessive consumption of sugary foods. This Community Service aims to analyze in depth the correlation between the level of parental knowledge about dental health, brushing practices in children, and sweet food consumption patterns to the incidence of dental caries in Wadi Fatimah Kindergarten (TK). The Community Service Method applied is observational analysis with a cross-sectional design, involving 64 early childhood children as participants. The results of Community Service revealed that 62.5% of children have dental caries, an alarming number. Of these, 53.1% of children showed improper brushing habits, while another 54.7% of children often consumed sweet foods. Furthermore, this Community Service also highlights that only 39.1% of parents have a good understanding of dental health, while the rest still need more comprehensive education. It is important to remember that children's dental health is a shared responsibility between parents, educators, and the community. With a good understanding of the importance of maintaining dental health from an early age, as well as support from various parties, it is hoped that children can grow up with healthy and strong teeth, which will ultimately improve their overall quality of life.

Abstract

Every individual hopes for a better life, but not everyone has the same opportunity to achieve it. Various life challenges, such as economic limitations, lack of access to education, health, and social support, often become barriers for some people. This condition creates social inequality that makes many individuals lose their enthusiasm and motivation in living life. Early childhood dental health is a crucial issue that requires serious attention, considering the high prevalence of dental caries which is influenced by various factors, including inadequate tooth brushing habits and excessive consumption of sweet foods. This Community Service aims to analyze the level of knowledge about dental health, tooth brushing practices in children, and patterns of sweet food consumption on the incidence of dental caries at the Yauma Pilangsari Orphanage and Dhuafa Cirebon. The Community Service method used was an observational analytic with a cross-sectional design, involving 24 early childhood participants. The results of the Community Service revealed that 62.5% of children experienced dental caries, an alarming figure. Of these, 53.1% of children exhibited improper brushing habits, while 54.7% frequently consumed sweet foods.
