Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students' cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of Classification of Living Things at SMP Negeri 1 Mego. This development is expected to create effective and inclusive learning media, accommodating students' needs across diverse abilities and backgrounds, while supporting understanding of complex biological concepts.\n\nThe research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, small- and large-scale trials, and product revision. The research subjects were seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Mego with varying levels of learning ability. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews involving teachers and students. The results showed that the developed LKPD received excellent validation scores from experts. Validation by subject matter experts scored 96.88%, by language experts 100%, and by media experts 96.25%, all categorized as highly valid. The small-scale trial yielded feasibility levels of 89.68% according to students and 89.5% according to teachers, both categorized as highly feasible. In the large-scale trial, feasibility levels increased to 93.7% according to students and 100% according to teachers, also categorized as highly feasible.\n\nBased on these findings, the PBL-based LKPD is proven to be effective i

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate students' perceptions of science teachers' competencies in implementing differentiated instruction at SMP Negeri 1 Mego. Teachers' competencies in meeting the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes adaptive and responsive learning tailored to the diverse needs of students, are deemed crucial. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires. The results show that the science teachers' competencies fall into the low category, with an average score of 32.43%. The breakdown includes pedagogical competence at 34.21%, social competence at 37.10%, and differentiated instruction ability at 35.04%. The low pedagogical competence indicates a lack of ability to adapt teaching methods to students' needs. Similarly, the low social competence reflects suboptimal interpersonal relationships between teachers and students. The inadequate implementation of differentiated instruction suggests a deficiency in teaching strategies that are responsive to the varying abilities, interests, and learning styles of students. The study concludes that efforts to enhance teachers' competencies are necessary through intensive training, academic supervision, and the development of professional learning communities. With sustained support from schools and the government, teachers are expected to improve their competencies, making learning more effective and aligned with students' needs.

Science learning is delightful, but learning that is only centered on teachers sometimes feels unpleasant and boring. This study aims to analyze the validation and feasibility of LKPD based on the problem-based learning (PBL) model on the human digestive system material for grade VII junior high school. This research was conducted at St. Mikhael Brai Catholic Junior High School, Alok Timur District, Sikka Regency. The research method used is development or Research and Development with a 4-D model. Development steps: needs analysis, product design, expert validation, small class trials, and product revisions. Data were collected through observations involving teachers and students. Abstract

A picture story book is a book that contains a story and is accompanied by pictures or illustrations to support the content of the story. Based on the results of the observations made, the researcher found several problems experienced by students, namely, lack of learning media and lack of reading literacy. With the problems found by the researcher, they developed learning media in the form of picture story books with the title of classification of living things using the 4D method, namely Devine (Definition), Design (Design), Develop (development) and Disseminate (disseminate). The purpose of developing this picture story book product is as a learning material. The stages of product validation use questionnaires, assessments for validator experts, namely material validation tests, media validation and language validation. The subject of this study is a student of grade VII of SMP Negeri 1 Talibura. The results of this study show that the resulting product is very valid for use by obtaining presentations by 88.75% material validation, 100% media validation and 96.6% language validation. Meanwhile, the results of the assessment of the feasibility of picture story books by teachers were 96%, and students were 93.56%. The picture story book developed in this assessment proved to be very valid and worthy of use.
