Abstract

The baglog pressing process in the Ngadi Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Community Group is still done manually, by compressing the media in a plastic bag with a bottle or plastic pipe several times until it is solid. This work requires quite a lot of labor and a long time, also depends on the skills and accuracy of the workers. Problems that can be identified in SMEs are the division of labor duties for the pressing and steaming processes, the lack of experienced workers who can compact baglog properly. So it is necessary to apply a two-lever baglog pressing machine which aims to increase production capacity. The results of the activity show an increase in baglog production capacity, from 60 baglog/day with 2 workers to 300 baglog/day with a baglog press machine. This capacity meets the needs for the steaming process, where the steamer capacity owned by SMEs is 215 baglogs/day.

Abstract

The application of grass chopper technology in the livestock sector plays an important role in increasing the efficiency of feed provision, particularly for goat farms. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of grass chopper machines in accelerating the availability of feed and its impact on the productivity of goat farms. The methods used included observation and direct interviews with farmers who applied this technology. The results of the study showed that the grass chopper machine was able to shorten feed preparation time by up to 50% so that farmers could provide sufficient and quality feed in a shorter time. The machine capacity is 200 kg/h, with an average chopped size of approximately 3-4 cm. Consistent chopping can increase feed digestibility, which contributes to increased body weight and livestock health.

Abstract

Vernonia amydalina atau daun afrika memiliki kandungan fitokimia seperti klorofil, antosianin, karotenoid, dan flavonoid yang berperan penting dalam bidang pertanian, kesehatan, dan bahkan untuk industri. Flavonoid memiliki kemampuan untuk bertindak sebagai antioksidan kuat yang berperan sebagai obat dari penyakit diabetes mellitus. Aktivitas biologis antosianin juga memiliki banyak manfaat sebagai antioksidan, antihiperglikemia, dan juga aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan klorofil, flavonoid, antosianin, dan karotenoid pada daun afrika dengan tingkat pertumbuhan yang berbeda. Metode pengambilan data flavonoid yaitu dengan ekstraksi etanol pro analysis menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 415 nm. Dari klasifikasi pertumbuhan tanaman, didapatkan andungan pigmen klorofil meningkat seiring tingkat pertumbuhan daun afrika. Pada daun bagian bawah memiliki nilai total klorofil tertinggi, yaitu 0,2036 mg/g. Kandungan flavonoid, antosianin, dan karotenoid meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan klorofil pada daun. Nilai tertinggi terdapat pada daun bagian bawah dengan nilai rata-rata total untuk kandungan flavonoid sebesar 12,37 mgQE/g, antosianin sebesar 0,052 mg/g, dan karotenoid sebesar 0,0284 mg/g. Daun bagian bawah memiliki warna hijau yang lebih tua dibandingan dengan bagian atas dan tengah. Daun bagian bawah merupakan daun yang paling dewasa dan tumbuh diawal, sehingga kadar pigmen flavonoid, antosianin, dan karotenoid cukup besar di bagian ini.
