Abstract

This study aims to find out the strategy of utilizing the management of the Motaain border area in an effort to alleviate poverty in Silawan Village. This research was conducted at the Motaain Border of Silawan Village, Belu Regency using primary and secondary data. The results of this study show how the SO (Strength-Opportunity) strategy uses adequate natural resources, locations close to PLBN and the existence of animal feed factories by taking advantage of opportunities such as in the agriculture and plantation, tourism and trade and logistics sectors to increase the economic activities of the local community and be able to reduce poverty in Silawan Village. The obstacles that are often faced in poverty alleviation in Silawan Village are limited resources, economic activities that occur are more dominant in the outside community and security that is still weak so that smuggling often occurs. The location close to PLBN and the existence of a animal feed factory are expected to provide alternative solutions for farmers to manage agricultural products into animal feed and revive the culture of livestock in border areas.

Cross-border trade is the activity selling goods between residents of different countries in border areas on the basis of mutual agreement. TTU district is one of the districts that borders directly with Timor Leste, especially the Oecusse enclave district. The research aims to explain the impacts of cross-border trade on the economy of local communities in the Wini-Timor Leste border area. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature with the data collection technique in the research being triangulation using the data analysis method proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results of the research show that cross-border trade between Wini and Timor Leste has an impact on the local economy such as increasing income, creating jobs which reduces the unemployment rate, infrastructure development, improving community welfare and also relational relations between the people of Wini and Timor Leste remain intact. However, there are also negative impacts that need to be addressed, such as unequal income distribution, unhealthy competition between local communities, security challenges and rapid socio-cultural changes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the fair value of equipment and machinery assets at the Specific Non-Vertical Groundwater Raw Water Work Unit (SATKER ATAB) of the Nusa Tenggara II River Basin Center in Kupang City as a basis for the asset write-off process. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Primary data were obtained through interviews and observations of the physical condition of the assets, while secondary data were obtained from inventory documents and financial reports. The sample consisted of seven units of heavy equipment including truck cranes, compressors, and earth drilling machines. Two valuation methods were used, namely the cost approach and the market approach in accordance with the 2022 Indonesian Valuation Standards (SPI) and PMK No. 111 / PMK.06 / 2016. The results showed that the fair value of severely damaged assets based on the cost approach was IDR 74,993,000 with a liquidation value of IDR 59,994,400. Meanwhile, the market approach resulted in a total value of IDR 163,307,352 with a liquidation value of IDR 130,645,881. The study concluded that the cost approach is more appropriate for scrap assets, while the market approach is more representative for assets that still have potential resale value. The results of this assessment can be used as a basis for setting auction limits and supporting an accountable asset disposal process.
