Abstract

This research is an identification study of basidiomycetes mushrooms in Patumbak sub-district, West Binjai and Medan Marelan. This research was carried out for 2 weeks, in May 2023. This research was carried out in the Districts of Patumbak, West Binjai and Medan Marelan. The purpose of this research is as information for the people in the area as information and as education. That in Patumbak District, West Binjai District, Medan Marelan District, there are various types of mushrooms of the basidiomycetes class, some of which can be consumed, can be used as medicine, and some cannot be consumed because they contain poison. The types of Basidiomycetes mushrooms found in the Districts of Patumbak, West Binjai and Medan Marelan are very diverse. The results of this study were the types of fungi found, namely Trametes, Pleurotus, Lactarius, Ganoderma, Fomitopsis, Phaeolus, Cronartium. This is influenced by environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and soil pH. The development and growth of fungi is strongly influenced by environmental factors, including humidity, temperature, soil pH and light intensity. Keywords: Identification, Fungi, Basidiomycetes

Abstract

Background: this study is the low critical thinking skills of students and the limited learning models that can stimulate it optimally. This study aims to analyse the effect of STEM-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model assisted by mind mapping on students' critical thinking skills on cardiovascular system material. Methodology: This research used quasi-experimental method with research design using Pretest Postest Control Group Design. The research sample was XI MIPA class students with the experimental class getting the STEM-based PjBL model treatment assisted by mind mapping, and the control class using conventional learning. The research instrument was a critical thinking skills test based on indicators from Facione (2013). Data were analysed using normality test, homogeneity test, and F test (ANOVA) with 5% significance level. Findings: The results showed that there was a significant effect of 0.000, meaning that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group simultaneously on students' critical thinking skills after the application of the STEM-based PjBL model assisted by mind mapping. Students in the experimental class showed an increase in the ability to interpret, analyse, evaluate, and draw conclusions from the Cardiovascular system material. Contribution: These findings suggest that the integration of project-based learning with STEM approach and visualisation through mind mapping is effective in improving students' higher order thinking skills in a meaningful way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian identifikasi letak, bentuk, jenis dan fungsi alat kelamin pada ikan air tawar. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi, memahami dan membandingkan organ reproduksi ikan air tawar. Pembedahan sampel dilakukan pada tanggal 3 November 2023 di ruangan laboratorium FITK UIN Sumatera Utara. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu satu ekor ikan gabus jantan dan satu ekor belut betina. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan akan ditabulasikan dan dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan literatur. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan perbedaan signifikan dalam struktur dan morfologi alat kelamin antara ikan gabus dan alat kelamin jantan. Alat kelamin ikan gabus jantan ditemukan memiliki karakterisitk berupa organ reproduksi eksternal yang lebih besar dan warnanya yang lebih cerah, sementara belut betina memiliki organ reproduksi internal yang lebih kecil dan cenderung warnanya lebih gelap. Pada ikan gabus jantan terdapat gonat, sepasang testis dan saluran vas deferens dan kloaka. Sedangkan belut betina terdiri dari ovarium, oviduk dan juga terdapat alat kelamin tambahan yaitu kelenjar yang mengasilkan cairan mucus dan kelenjar sperma.
