Abstract

In higher education, especially at the Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra, there are various kinds of platforms that can be used to develop students' interests, talents and creativity. One of the faculties at the Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra is the Faculty of Islamic Religion. Student success in learning on campus can be seen through learning achievements shown in the Achievement Index (IP). Learning achievement is a point of attention that becomes a benchmark for student success in their learning process over a certain period of time. Students with high learning achievements can be interpreted as having been successful in their studies. Student success in learning achievement is influenced by several things, one of which is the student's activeness, especially communication science. A student must have communication skills such as public speaking, students can develop and apply the skills they have and can also train leadership skills. However, if you want to take part in the social field, communication science is needed everywhere. Speaking skills support students in becoming content creators, leaders and others, to increase their particular attractiveness.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan semangat beribadah di kalangan remaja di Desa Merek melalui program pengabdian masyarakat, mengingat pentingnya fase remaja dalam pembentukan identitas dan nilai-nilai hidup.  Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan secara tatap muka (on the spot training) dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Program mencakup sosialisasi di SMK N 1 Merek untuk menjelaskan pentingnya ibadah, serta kegiatan belajar mengaji di masjid untuk mendorong anak-anak beribadah lebih rajin. Perlombaan seperti lomba adzan dan mewarnai dirancang untuk menciptakan suasana menyenangkan yang mendorong partisipasi remaja. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat, khususnya remaja, tentang pentingnya ibadah. Antusiasme masyarakat, dukungan orang tua, dan keterlibatan tokoh masyarakat menunjukkan keberhasilan kegiatan ini. Contoh teladan positif dari mahasiswa KKN, seperti mengikuti pengajian dan gotong royong, memberikan dampak signifikan dalam menumbuhkan semangat beribadah. Simpulan, Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini tidak hanya memperkuat ikatan sosial di Desa Merek, tetapi juga memberikan wawasan bagi orang tua, pendidik, dan tokoh masyarakat mengenai pentingnya kolaborasi antara keluarga, sekolah, dan komunitas dalam meningkatkan semangat beribadah di kalangan remaja.

Abstract

Instilling moral ethics based on Islamic values is a crucial aspect in the formation of student character in the educational environment, especially at SMP Muhammadiyah 57 Medan. This study aims to analyze the development of teacher professional abilities in instilling Islamic moral ethics values in the school. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the development of teacher professional abilities greatly influences the effectiveness of instilling Islamic moral values in students. Teachers who have a deep understanding of Islamic values and good pedagogical skills are able to integrate moral education into the curriculum more effectively. In addition, support from the school and a conducive environment also play an important role in this process. Challenges were also found such as the lack of special training for teachers in this field and differences in the level of understanding of moral ethics among students. This study suggests improving training programs for teachers, as well as strengthening cooperation between schools, families, and communities in instilling Islamic values holistically. Thus, it is hoped that a generation will be created that is not only academically intelligent, but also has high morals in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study is to determine the implementation of the Quran tahfidz program which has been carried out in accordance with the program at SMP 57 Muhammadiyah, Mustafa, Medan. The research data collection technique uses qualitative methods with technical observation, interviews and documentation. Analysis uses library research using literature in the form of books and is also in accordance with the results of the report notes in the research. In this research, a problem was found, namely that the implementation of the tahfidz program was less effective due to inadequate tahfidz hours, so that memorization was not done regularly. However, the results of the research show that the implementation of the tahfidz program at SMP 57 Muhammadiyah can increase students' religiosity well because it fosters awareness that a hafidz's soul must be good and also has an influence on students' religiosity which can be seen from the results of changes in the development of character and morals in students. So, with the implementation of the tahfidz Quran activity, it will grow and increase awareness in the human spirit of the importance of this tahfidz program in schools with the Koran, and the tahfidz activity can be a movement for evil and good deeds. In implementing tahfidz activities, targets and methods for memorizing are also needed, such as the importance of good focus in memorizing, etc., which will be studied as problematic in this research.
