Abstract

The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka has not yet been fully carried out by schools in the South Papua region. Meanwhile, the government's target is that in the academic year 2024/2025, all schools will have implemented Kurikulum Merdeka. The launch of Kurikulum Merdeka program is a form of effort to recover learning after the Covid-19 pandemic period, where there was a lag in learning at every level of education. As a new program, the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka requires readiness from schools, especially teachers as curriculum implementers, in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning. This study aims to describe the results of the analysis regarding the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka that has been carried out for one academic year at SMP Negeri 3 Merauke, specifically focusing on the ability of teachers to develop lesson plans. The subjects of this study are 13 teachers. The research methodology used is qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation studies. The results of the data analysis show that the ability of teachers to develop lesson plans in implementing Kurikulum Merdeka is classified as fairly good, but there are still some challenges faced by teachers, especially in creating teaching modules.

Abstract

The fundamental mathematical concepts acquired at the elementary level include the calculation of the greatest common divisor (GCD) and the least common multiple (LCM). It is undeniable that students encounter challenges when attempting to solve and determine the value of GCD and LCM. A prevalent pedagogical practice observed in the classroom is the exclusive reliance on methods derived from textbooks. Accordingly, this research is designed to provide educators with additional resources for implementing alternative methods in teaching the material related to GCD and LCM, with a particular focus on facilitating calculations involving large numbers. This study used the research and development method. The data used were the results of expert judgment from mathematics experts. The product produced from this research is the Euclid algorithm book on the calculation of GCD and LCM, for elementary school teachers. This book received a good response from the experts with an average assessment value of 4.43 or classified as very good so it is suitable for use as a reference for teachers.

Abstract

Abstract STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is increasingly becoming a major fokus in education, with the goal of equipping students with 21st-century skills. Mathematics serves as a foundation in STEM, supporting conceptual understanding in science and engineering. However, the integration of mathematics into the STEM curriculum remains a challenge, such as teacher readiness, curriculum flexibility, and the availability of supporting media and technology. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) aims to examine the latest developments and future directions of STEM education with a fokus on curriculum integration and pedagogical approaches involving mathematics. This study uses the PRISMA approach, selecting 48 articles from the Scopus database that are relevant to this topic. The results show that manipulative tools (concrete and virtual), interdisciplinary approaches, and educational technology play a significant role in the successful integration of mathematics into STEM. The main contribution of this study is to provide a thematic map of trends, approaches, and challenges in integrating mathematics, as well as suggesting directions for further research to develop adaptive and collaborative STEM learning models. Abstrak Pendidikan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) semakin menjadi fokus utama dalam dunia pendidikan, dengan tujuan membekali siswa dengan keterampilan abad ke-21. Matematika berperan sebagai fondasi dalam STEM, mendukung pemahaman konsep dalam bidang sains dan teknik. Namun, integrasi matematika dalam kurikulum STEM masih menjadi tantangan, seperti kesiapan guru, fleksibilitas kurikulum, serta ketersediaan media dan teknologi pendukung. Kajian Sistematis Literatur (SLR) ini bertujuan untuk menelaah perkembangan terbaru dan arah masa depan pendidikan STEM dengan fokus pada integrasi kurikulum dan pendekatan pedagogis yang melibatkan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan PRISMA, dengan memilih 48 artikel dari database Scopus yang relevan dengan topik ini. Hasil menunjukan bahwa alat bantu manipulatif (konkret dan virtual), pendekatan interdisipliner, serta teknologi pendidikan memainkan peran penting dalam keberhasilan integrasi matematika dalam STEM. Kontribusi utama penelitian ini adalah memberikan peta tematik terkait tren, pendekatan dan tantangan dalam integrasikan matematika, serta menyarankan arah fokus penelitian selanjutnya untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran STEM yang adaptif dan kolaboratif.
