Abstract

This research examines the potential for waste management and the role of entrepreneurship in local economic development in Cibatu Village, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The village is known for its residential industrial base and medium-scale and international factories, which produce industrial waste, including duplex waste, which is often considered worthless but has high economic potential. Lack of knowledge and awareness in handling duplex waste by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is the main obstacle. Previous research shows that industrial waste management can provide additional economic value. The importance of managing waste innovatively and creatively to open up new business opportunities for MSMEs in Cibatu Village is the main highlight. The role of entrepreneurs in Cibatu Village is considered crucial in encouraging inclusive and sustainable local economic growth. The service method is carried out through developing the potential of PKK women in processing waste into economically valuable products, such as chairs from duplex waste, motorbike seat leather and foam. Activities involve observation, planning, preparation of tools and materials, implementation of counseling and workshops, and evaluation. The results show new motivation and knowledge for Mrs. PKK in managing duplex waste economically. This activity is supported by the WhatsApp Business platform to market products. It is hoped that this extension program can provide inspiration and open up new opportunities for the development of an independent and competitive village economy.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of social media platforms in supporting digital marketing strategies for micro, small and medium businesses. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through literature study, direct observation, and semi-structured interviews with 6 to 12 business actors who actively use social media. Thematic analysis techniques are used to identify patterns of utilization of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as the challenges faced. The research results show that social media provides a great opportunity for businesses to increase visibility, reach a wider audience, and strengthen relationships with customers. Instagram offers visual power, Facebook allows specific market segmentation, and TikTok provides high virality potential. However, business actors face obstacles such as limited technical knowledge, limited resources, and competition with big brands. This research concludes that a deep understanding of platform features, consistency in creating content, and adaptation to market trends are very important for the success of a digital marketing strategy. With the right strategy, social media can become the main pillar in supporting business growth and competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

Generation Z students enrolled in the weekend regular program at Pelita Bangsa University often face challenges in maintaining a proper work-life balance due to the dual burden of studying and working. This generation has unique expectations related to work flexibility and career development opportunities. However, these expectations are frequently constrained by limited institutional facilities and support systems, which can negatively impact their job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the role of work-life balance, work flexibility, and career development in improving job satisfaction among Generation Z employees. A quantitative research method was employed, utilizing the IBM SPSS 29.0.0.0 application for data analysis. Data were collected through a combination of observation, literature review, and the distribution of questionnaires to 38 students from Pelita Bangsa University’s Agribusiness weekend program who also work while studying. The results of the study indicate that work-life balance has a significant influence on job satisfaction, with a p-value of less than 0.001, showing a strong correlation. Work flexibility also contributes significantly, with a p-value of 0.002, and career development is likewise significant with a p-value of less than 0.001. These findings suggest that each of the three independent variables—work-life balance, work flexibility, and career development—has a statistically significant and positive effect on job satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. In conclusion, Generation Z employees benefit significantly from balanced work and study environments, adaptable work arrangements, and clear opportunities for career progression. Organizations and academic institutions should collaborate to provide greater support and resources to help this generation meet their educational and professional goals. By addressing these factors, job satisfaction among Generation Z workers can be improved, leading to better performance, motivation, and overall well-being.
