Abstract

This research is motivated by issues in the village of Marbau, namely two shy children aged 5-6 years old. Shyness is considered a normal behavior by some parents. The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the characteristics of shy children, the role of parents in dealing with shy children, and the factors that support and hinder overcoming the role of parents in dealing with shy children. This research uses a descriptive qualitative case study approach, where the research is conducted intensively, in-depth, and attempts to obtain as much information as possible regarding the role of parents in dealing with shy children. Data collected for this research are obtained from events, activities, and behaviors relevant to the research objectives. It is found that children who are the subjects of the study have characteristics such as reluctance to speak, tendency to play alone, lack of openness, difficulty in answering questions, and limited interaction. Parents play a crucial role in helping children overcome their shyness. They need to understand the causes and continue to encourage children's strengths to feel comfortable in socializing. The results of the study emphasize the importance of the role of parents in helping children overcome shyness. This role not only occurs within the family environment but also cannot be replaced by educational institutions. Parents are advised to find out the causes of their children's shyness and continue to encourage their strengths and talents when socializing with new friends. Thus, they can help children feel comfortable and confident in social interaction.

Abstract

This research explores the golden period of the Abbasid Dynasty in Islamic history, focusing on the rapid development of education and science during that period. In an unstable political context and sharp ideological differences between various groups, the Abbasid Dynasty was able to create an environment that supported the progress of science, both in the fields of naqli and aqli sciences. The research methodology used was a Literary Study/Library Study approach, by collecting data from various library sources and previous research. The data was analyzed to understand the political, social and religious conditions during the Abbasid Dynasty, as well as their impact on educational and scientific development. The research results show that the Abbasid Dynasty experienced an educational heyday marked by the establishment of madrasas, large libraries and the promotion of science. A variety of teaching methods are used, including oral, rote, and written methods. The educational curriculum covers various subjects, from religious sciences to secular sciences. In the context of social and cultural diversity, recognition of the mawali group provides a new color for the development of science, with the exchange of ideas and traditions from various cultures. The Abbasid dynasty also had a significant impact on the Islamic and global world through the process of translating scientific works and collaboration between scholars from various backgrounds. This research confirms that the Abbasid period was not only the peak of scientific glory in Islamic history, but also provided the foundation for educational progress. and human civilization more broadly.
