Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the singing method in teaching the pillars of Islam to early childhood children in early childhood education (PAUD). The study used classroom action research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were children in Group B2 of the Buah Hati Cerdas Integrated Kindergarten, using observation, interviews, and documentation as instruments. The results showed that the singing method improved children's pronunciation of the pillars of Islam, expanded vocabulary, and strengthened articulation. Furthermore, this method created an interactive and collaborative classroom atmosphere, enhancing children's motivation, self-confidence, and social-emotional skills. Learning effectiveness was further enhanced when the singing method was combined with multimodal approaches, such as movement, visuals, and simple games. The successful implementation of this method depended heavily on the teacher's creativity in selecting, adapting, and linking songs to the learning content. This study concluded that the singing method is an innovative strategy in early childhood Islamic education because it supports not only cognitive aspects but also character development and religiosity from an early age.

Abstract

Buton's traditional woven cloth is a local cultural heritage with economic, social, and cultural value for the people of Baubau City. However, with the advancement of modernization, the younger generation's interest in continuing the weaving tradition has waned. This has resulted in a decline in the number of weavers and limited the development of local culture-based businesses. This community service activity aims to improve community skills in making Buton's traditional woven cloth, encourage community economic empowerment, and preserve local culture by strengthening traditional weaving businesses. The activity implemented a participatory approach through field observation, outreach, woven cloth production training, production assistance, and product marketing. The target group included housewives, small business owners, and the younger generation in Baubau City. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in the process of making Buton's traditional woven cloth, from material selection and dyeing techniques to the weaving process. Furthermore, this activity also increased community motivation to develop weaving businesses as a source of family income and expanded marketing opportunities for products based on local culture. This empowerment program is expected to support the development of the community's creative economy while maintaining the sustainability of Buton's traditional woven cloth heritage in Baubau City.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve children's Quran reading skills through learning the hijaiyah alphabet using the "Guess the Hijaiyah Letters" game method. The problem faced by the partners was students' low ability to recognize the hijaiyah letters and their inaccurate pronunciation of the letters according to the hijaiyah alphabet. Furthermore, the monotonous learning process tends to diminish children's interest in learning. Therefore, an educational game-based learning method was implemented to create an active, enjoyable, and interactive learning environment. The activity was implemented through a participatory approach, involving observation, counseling, demonstrations, educational game practice, and evaluation of participant abilities. The "Guess the Hijaiyah Letters" game was used as a learning medium to help children recognize letter shapes, distinguish hijaiyah letter sounds, and gradually practice accurate pronunciation of the hijaiyah alphabet. The activity targeted early childhood and TPA/TPQ students participating in Quran reading lessons. The results showed an increase in participants' ability to recognize the hijaiyah letters, understand the pronunciation of letters according to the hijaiyah alphabet, and increased enthusiasm and participation during the learning process. Educational game methods have been proven to create a more effective and enjoyable learning environment, making it easier for participants to understand Quranic learning materials. Therefore, the "Guess the Hijaiyah Letters" game method can be an innovative learning alternative for improving children's Quranic reading skills.
