Abstract

AbstrakPT Bimuda Karya Teknik didirikan pada tahun 2018 sebagai perusahaan jasa pembuatan suku cadang dan pemasok untuk perusahaan otomotif yang lebih besar. Puluhan jenis suku cadangdiproduksi setiap hari dengan menggunakan mesin stamping dan jenis dies yang berbeda. Untukbersaing, PT Bimuda Karya Teknik berusaha memastikan proses produksi berjalan dengan kecepatanmaksimal. Ditemukan bahwa banyak waktu digunakan untuk proses set-up mesin yang berulang kali.Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah proses set-up mesin sudah optimal dan bagaimana caramengurangi waktu set-up. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED).Dengan mengategorikan semua kegiatan berdasarkan kriteria yang ada, ditemukan bahwa proses setupmesinbelumoptimal.Prosesset-upyangkurangoptimaldisebabkanolehfaktormanusia,mesin,metode,dan pengukuran. Setelah analisis, metode SMED berhasil menurunkan waktu set-up dariminimal 20 menit menjadi 11,75 menit. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan panduan kegiatan saat prosesset-up beserta estimasi waktu untuk setiap langkahnya.Kata kunci: dies; efisiensi waktu; pemborosan; set-up mesin; single minute exchange of die, SMED Abstract PT Bimuda Karya Teknik was established in 2018 as a service company manufacturing spare parts and supplying larger automotive companies. Dozens of types of spare parts are produced dailyusing stamping machines with different dies. To remain competitive, PT Bimuda Karya Teknik strivesto ensure that the production process for customer demands is carried out with maximum speed. It wasfound that a significant amount of time was allocated for repeated machine set-up processes. Thisresearch was conducted to determine whether the machine set-up process was optimal and how toreduce the required set-up time. This research uses the Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) method.By categorizing all activities based on the existing criteria, the method found that the machine set-upprocess was not yet optimal. The inefficiency in the set-up process was due to human factors, machines,methods, and measurements. After analysis, the SMED method successfully reduced the set-up timefrom a minimum of 20 minutes to 11.75 minutes.
