Abstract

Musik merupakan sesuatu yang bisa dirasakan oleh semua orang, dari anak-anak hingga orang dewasa. Kekuatan musik ialah dapat  menyentuh hati dan mengungkapkan perasaan membuatnya dan merupkan sumber ketenangan, dan inspirasi. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa musik memiliki dampak positif bagi kesehatan mental dan kesejahteraan, yang meningkatkan kualitas hidup seseorang. Namun, terdapat situasi di mana musik juga bisa digunakan dengan cara yang negatif. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menganalisis berbagai literatur untuk menjelajahi pandangan roh nubuat tentang penggunaan musik dalam ibadah. Dalam Perjanjian Lama, musik digunakan untuk menyatakan rasa syukur kepada Tuhan dan memberikan ketenangan jiwa. Sedangkan dalam Perjanjian Baru, walaupun tidak menjelaskan secara spesifik jenis musik, musik tetap diakui pentingnya dalam konteks kerohanian.  Pandangan roh nubuat, seperti yang dinyatakan oleh Ellen White, menekankan bahwa musik harus digunakan untuk memuliakan Tuhan dengan keindahan, harmoni, dan kesederhanaan yang dapat mengangkat pikiran kepada yang kudus. Rekomendasi untuk menggunakan musik yang lembut dan harmonis dalam ibadah menyoroti pentingnya kejelasan intonasi dan kekuatan emosi dalam menyampaikan pujian kepada Tuhan. Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah bahwa penggunaan musik dalam ibadah tidak hanya menciptakan suasana yang hidup tetapi juga menjadi ungkapan dari rasa syukur dan pengabdian yang tulus. Melalui musik, umat dapat menyampaikan pujian yang memuliakan Tuhan dengan indahnya, mencerminkan kehendak-Nya yang sempurna, dan menciptakan keindahan rohani di dalam ibadah mereka.

Abstract

Discipline is an important element in education that can influence students' academic performance. Discipline is defined as the attitude and feeling of obedience and compliance towards values that are considered a responsibility. This study aims to examine the importance of discipline in education and its benefits and implications. The methodology used is qualitative research with a literature review approach, collecting data through journal and book literature to observe social phenomena related to discipline in education. Discipline in education includes appreciation, respect, and compliance with rules, both written and unwritten. Education is a process to improve individuals' abilities, knowledge, and skills through teaching, training, and development. Therefore, education and discipline are two interrelated aspects that play a role in forming quality human resources. In conclusion, discipline in education has an important role in shaping students' character and performance. Consistent implementation of discipline can help create a conducive educational environment and produce individuals who are qualified and ready to face future challenges

Abstract

Psalm 137 is a very emotional and theologically important passage within the Psalter, providing insight into the tragic experiences of the Israelites during the Babylonian exile. This psalm vividly depicts themes of exile, mourning, and the need for justice, intertwining lamentation and imprecation within its poetic framework. The poem is structured in three stanzas, transitioning from feelings of sorrow (vv. 1-4) to a proclamation of loyalty to Zion (vv. 5-6), and concluding with curses directed at Edom and Babylon (vv. 7-9). The raw emotional intensity of this psalm confronts contemporary readers, particularly its severe imprecations, including the demand for divine punishment against Babylon. This article examines Psalm 137 within its historical and literary contexts, assessing its structure, themes, and theological ramifications. It underscores the psalmist’s plea for justice in reaction to injustice, stressing that these imprecations are not personal vendettas but a supplication to God as the supreme adjudicator. The paper examines the conflict between Old Testament imprecatory prayers and New Testament doctrines of love and forgiveness, illustrating their coexistence within the overarching biblical narrative. The article finishes by examining the significance of Psalm 137 for current readers, providing insights into its implications for contemporary interpretations of justice, suffering, and divine reactions to malevolence. Psalm 137 ultimately stands as a perennial testament to the profundity of human feeling and faith amidst injustice

Abstract

Scholars, theologians, and lay readers have long disagreed about the creation stories included in chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis. Some contend that these stories show a dichotomy of traditions, while others insist that they narrate a single story. To ascertain whether Genesis 1 and 2 are complementary or conflicting, this article evaluates their literary, linguistic, and theological aspects. Key Hebrew phrases, structural patterns, and thematic connections—such as the function of plants, the lack of rain, and humanity's obligation to cultivate the ground—are examined through careful textual analysis. Additionally, it affirms the text's wholeness and coherence from a Seventh-day Adventist perspective while analyzing historical-critical viewpoints, such as the Documentary Hypothesis. The findings suggest that rather than being at odds, the two narratives offer complementary interpretations of God's creative act, highlighting both the cosmic order of creation and humanity's special place within it. By providing a fair interpretation of these key texts, this work advances our understanding of the Genesis creation story and its theological ramifications
