Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada guru-guru IPA pada MGMP IPA di Distrik Abepura Jayapura, Adapun tujuan pelatihan untuk membantu para guru IPA mengembangkan bahan ajar dan LKPD yang ramah anak dengan menggunakan kearifan local Port Numbay sebagai muatan dasarnya. Pelaksanaan pelatihan ini berasal dari kekuatiran bahwa peserta didik tidak termotivasi belajar IPA salah satu sebabnya adalah bahan ajar yang tidak menarik dan tidak sesuai dengan konteks local mereka. Pelatihan diberikan kepada 30 orang guru IPA yang bersalah dari 7 sekolah menengah yang tergabung pada MGMP IPA Distrik Abepura. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah metode ceramah, diskusi dan praktek, dalam pelatihan ini peserta pelatihan diarahkan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajarnya sendiri. Pada akhir pelatihan didapati bahwa guru mulai memahami dan telah memiliki gambaran untuk pembuatan bahan ajar berbasis kearifan local Jayapura, kedepan untuk mengoptimalkan hasil yang lebih baik masih perlu dilakukan pendampingan pada MGMP IPA pada masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the improvement in Physics learning outcomes and the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET Simulation on students' mastery of concepts in the Physics of Elasticity and Hooke's Law material at high school level in Jayapura City. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling method, obtained from class XI students. The evaluation test instrument is used to see students' mastery of concepts with 20 questions. Data analysis used N-Gain analysis and F test. From the results of data analysis, it was found that in the control class, the average N-Gain value was 0.63, which was categorized as medium, in the experimental class, the average N-Gain value was 0.73. high category. Furthermore, there is a significant influence between the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulation on students' learning interest and there is a significant influence between the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulation on student learning outcomes with a sig value of 0.002 < 0.05.

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model based on Jayapura ethnoscience and its influence on students' interest in learning science and mastery of science concepts. The research model used is a quantitative research type with Quasi Experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design type. The population in this study were all students of class VII at SMP Negeri 13 Jayapura, and the sample was class VII A and VII B. The instruments used were questionnaire instruments and science learning outcome evaluation instruments. Data analysis used regression analysis using SPSS 23 and N-Gain analysis The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the application of the CTL learning model based on Jayapura ethnoscience on students' interest in learning science with a significance value of 0.001. Furthermore, it was found that the application of the Jayapura ethnoscience-based CTL model was proven to increase students' mastery of concepts in the material on the structure and layers of the earth, an increase in N-gain of 0.62 (medium category) was found in the experimental group, higher than in the control class with an N-gain of 0.13 (low category).
