The Baduy community is a tribe originating from the interior of Banten and living in Kenakes Village, Leuwidar, Lebak, Banten. The Baduy community is a tribe that has not been affected by modern culture and still obeys the rules that apply in their place of residence. The Baduy people do not want to accept a new culture and deliberately alienate themselves from outside life to avoid modernization as a way for them to respect their ancestors so that the balance and harmony of the universe can be maintained. The Baduy tribe is divided into two parts, namely the Inner Baduy and Outer Baduy who live in crowded settlements. The striking difference between the two tribes is that the Inner Baduy people have not been touched by technology and modernization at all, while the Outer Baduy people.

This study aims to determine the types and strategies of politeness that are dominant in the first debate of the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidates. Qualitative descriptive methods are used in this study to collect data to explore politeness strategies in the first debate of the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidates. Data collection was carried out by observation, as additional data to find out more about the success of politeness strategies in the debate. Data were taken from video scripts from the first debate of the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidates. Data analysis was used by Brown and Levinson (1992) who classified five politeness strategies of lecturers' speech. Based on the analysis, it was found that four types of politeness strategies occurred in the first debate of the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidates, there were 47 utterances data including 8 off-record utterances, 27 positive politeness utterances, 3 negative politeness utterances and 9 bald on record utterances. The most dominant strategy used by the 2024 Indonesian presidential candidates is positive politeness. It is hoped that this study can increase understanding about the types and functions of politeness strategies in conversation and adds deeper insight.

Hasil belajar dan karakter siswa sangat diperlukan dalam pendidikan pada saat ini. Namun banyak di temukan masalah karakter siswa yang rendah dan hasil belajar siswa yang rendah. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah meningkatkan karakter siswa melalui bimbingan konseling dan meningkatkan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media digital dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Wordwall dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa untuk mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi oleh siswa/i adalah dengan melaksanakan bimbingan konseling dengan cara melaksanakan seminar dengan judul “Melihat Dua Sisi Gadget” dan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan penerapan aplikasi Wordwall dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan atau dituju kepada siswa/i SMK Swasta Pembangunan Galang 1 yaitu dari kelas X-MPLB, dan XII-RPLB. Dalam pelaksanaan aplikasi Wordwall yang telah dilaksanakan tim PKM, siswa/i kelas X dan XII telah menunjukkan perubahan proses belajar yang sebelumnya kurang baik menjadi lebih baik dan menarik sehingga siswa/i lebih mudah memahami pembelajaran. Kemudian, dalam penerapan seminar, siswa/i juga lebih memahami bahwa sangat banyak dampak dari penggunaan gadget. Siswa/i juga lebih mengetahui hal apa yang harus dilakukan untuk mngatasi penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan.
