Abstract

As one of higher education institutions, Politeknik Al Islam Bandung should be able togive optimal services in producing qualified graduates. As one living organisms thathas a major role in achieving goals of higher education institutions, the Politeknik AlIslam Bandung requires qualified and profesional human resources. The aim of thisstudy is to find out the information about human resources in Politeknik Al IslamBandung, and also to know the correlation between work motivation owned by itshuman resources and resulted performance. The study was conducted on 37respondents consisting of lecturers and staffs of Politeknik Al Islam Bandung. Theresults show that about 83.8% of human resources of Politeknik Al Islam Bandunghave high motivation, with an average of 120,4. The correlation between workmotivation and performance conducted by them belongs to strong category, which is proved by r coefficient value of 0,695. The significance test was carried out with asignificance level of 5% to prove positive and significant relationships between thework motivation and performance of the human resources. The results show that tcountis greater than ttable (5.72 > 1.689). It means that this study has succesfully proved thatthere is a strong relationship between work motivation and performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the long-term Role Playing technique to the alumni of the Al Islam Bandung Polytechnic (PAIB), especially alumni of Hospital Administration Study Program students. The study was conducted for five months from July to November 2019. The research method used in this study was a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques, because the domicile of the alumni are scattered in many places far apart, then to facilitate the collection of questionnaires through a Google form that is distributed through the WA alumni network, Facebook and Instagram. In addition, a Focus Group Discussion was held on 20 alumni, as well as interviews with five alumni located in Garut, Tasikmalaya, Depok, Soreang and Bandung. The results of the study show that role play for alumni fosters group cohesiveness and class solidity. Students who have more proficiency in English help other students who have difficulties, both in memorizing dialogue, practicing reciting and preparing the stage set, so that students are able to express their feelings in role play and are able to reduce their nervousness when performing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak teknik Role Playing dalam jangka panjang kepada para alumni Politeknik Al Islam Bandung (PAIB), khususnya alumni mahasiswa Program Studi Administrasi Rumah Sakit. Penelitian dilakukan selama lima bulan dari bulan Juli hingga November 2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data, karena domisili para alumni tersebar di banyak tempat yang berjauhan, maka untuk mempermudah pengumpulannya dilakukan penyebaran angket melalui google form yang disebarkan melalui jaringan Grup WA alumni, Facebook dan Instagram. Selain itu juga dilakukan focus Group Discussion kepada 20 alumni, serta wawancara kepada lima alumni yang berlokasi di Garut, Tasikmalaya, Depok, Soreang dan kota Bandung. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa role play bagi para alumni memupuk kekompakan kelompok dan kesolidan kelas. Mahasiswa yang memiliki kemampuan lebih dalam Bahasa Inggris membantu mahasiswa lain yang kesulitan, baik dalam menghafal dialog, berlatih melafalkan dan mempersiapkan tata panggung, sehingga mahasiswa mampu mengekspresikan perasaannya dalam role play dan mampu mengurangi rasa gugup saat pentas.

Abstract

Radiation exposure to the ovaries due to abdominal radiology is unavoidable given its location in the lower abdomen. Ovaries are organs that have a high level of sensitivity to radiation. One of the efforts used in the application of radiation protection optimization is the use of the 10 kV rule method. This study aimed to determine the estimated reception of ovarian radiation dose on abdominal radiology examination. The examination was carried out by anteroposterior (AP) projection of the female body phantom (FAX06) using Caldose_X software. The beam variation is set from 60kV/32mAs to 100kV/2mAs. The results of the ovarian radiation dose examination were: 0.484mGy for 60kV/32mAs, 0.402mGy for 70kV/16mAs, 0.309mGy for 80kV/8mAs, 0.227mGy for 90kV/4mAs, and 0.154mGy for 100kV/2mAs. When compared with the radiation dose limit for the abdominal examination set by BAPETEN, the data for this study were much smaller. Likewise, when compared with the reference results of previous studies, the data on ovarian radiation dose reception in this study were still within safe limits.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu dampak negatif dari perkembangan teknologi informasi yang demikian pesat adalah penggunaan gadget berlebih di kalangan anak dan remaja. Penggunaan gadget berlebih tidak hanya berdampak buruk pada psikologis, sosial, dan emosional anak, melainkan pada kesehatan fisik. Telah dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) pada tanggal 28-29 November 2021 dengan sasaran remaja dan orang tua yang memiliki anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai dampak negatif dari penggunaan Gadget berlebih, terutama dari dampak radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik yang dipancarkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab, serta diakhiri dengan pemberian kuisioner untuk mengevaluasi kegiatan PKM. Kegiatan PKM diikuti oleh peserta yang terdiri dari 19 orang remaja di lingkungan Cisaranten Kulon, dan 18 orang tua, khususnya para orang tua/wali siswa di Kober Bina Insan Cendekia. Kegiatan ini merupakan hasil kerja sama Politeknik Al Islam Bandung dengan Posyandu Teratai II Cisaranten Kulon, Kecamatan Arcamanik Kota Bandung melalui program kegiatan Pembinaan Keluarga Balita dan Pembinaan Keluarga Remaja. Seluruh rangkaian kegiatan PKM ini sesuai dengan yang direncanakan, terlihat dari antusias peserta yang terlibat aktif dalam sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab, serta peningkatan pemahaman peserta ditinjau dari nilai rata-rata pretest (50,4) dan posttest (89,0) dengan rata-rata kenaikan nilai sebesar 38,6. Kata kunci: anak usia dini; gadget; penyuluhan; radiasi elektromagnetik; remaja. ABSTRACTOne of the negative impacts of the rapid development of information technology is the excessive use of gadgets among children and adolescents. Excessive gadget use not only has a negative impact on children's psychological, social, and emotional well-being but also physical health. Community service activities were carried out on November 28-29, 2021 with the target of teenagers and parents who have early childhood. This activity aims to provide education about the negative impact of excessive Gadget use, especially from the impact of electromagnetic wave radiation emitted. The methods used were lectures, discussions, and questions and answers, and ended with giving questionnaires to evaluate PKM activities. PKM activities were attended by participants consisting of 19 teenagers in the Cisaranten Kulon neighborhood, and 18 parents, especially parents/guardians of students at Kober Bina Insan Cendekia. This activity results from the collaboration between Al Islam Polytechnic of Bandung and Posyandu Teratai II Cisaranten Kulon, Arcamanik District, Bandung City, through the Toddler Family Development and Adolescent Family Development activity programs. The whole series of PKM activities was in accordance with the plan, as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants who were actively involved in the discussion and question and answer sessions, as well as the increase in participants' understanding as seen from the average score of the pretest (50.4) and posttest (89.0) with an average score increase of 38.6. Keywords: early childhood; gadgets; counseling; electromagnetic radiation; adolescents.

Abstract

Radioterapi merupakan salah satu modalitas utama dalam pengobatan kanker. VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) merupakan salah satu teknik radioterapi yang memberikan seluruh fraksi dosis secara kontinyu pada saat gantry terus menerus berotasi dengan mengatur kecepatan rotasi gantry, bentuk penampang berkas (MLC leaf position), dan fraksi dosis yang diberikan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi Monte Carlo VMAT dengan menggunakan EGSnrc code system untuk mengetahui distribusi dosis radiasi berkas foton 6 MV pada kasus kanker paru dengan data parameter berasal dari rtplan. Phantom yang digunakan berasal dari data CT scan thorax yang dibaca dengan ctcreate. Simulasi dilakukan dengan membagi jumlah control point VMAT ke dalam 38 kali simulasi dengan setiap simulasi terdiri dari 3 buah control point. Sebagai perbandingan dilakukan pula simulasi VMAT dengan seluruh control point sekaligus. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa distribusi dosis yang terbentuk dari kedua simulasi cenderung memiliki pola kurva isodosis yang hampir serupa, namun perbandingan jumlah history partikel yang digunakan untuk membentuk kurva isodosis yang sama antara kedua simulasi belum dapat diketahui secara pasti. Radiotherapy is one of major modalities in cancer treatment. VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) is a radiotherapy technique, which provides a continuous full dose radiation as the gantry rotates (dynamic beam delivery) that manages gantry rotation speed, beam cross-sectional shape arranged by MLC leaf position, and fraction of the given dose simultaneously as the treatments take place. The aim of this study was to conduct Monte Carlo VMAT simulation using EGSnrc code system to determine dose distribution of radiation in lung cancer using parameters data deriving from the rtplan. The phantom used comes from data CT scans of thorax, which was then read by ctcreate. Simulation was done by dividing the number of control points of VMAT into 38 simulations in which each simulation consists of three pieces of control point. As a comparison, a VMAT simulation with all of control points was done simultaneously at a time. The results suggest that the dose distributions formed from the sum of data from all simulations with 3 control points tend to have a similar pattern to the dose distribution form of simulations involving all control points, but the comparison of the number of particles history used to form the same isodose curve between the two simulations can not be known for certain.Key words: Radioteraphy; VMAT; Monte Carlo; Control point; Isodose Curve

Abstract

Background: Occupational safety and health (OSH) management is the main factor in hospital services, which aims to control and minimize potential dangers due to radiation. One of the evaluations used is the implementation of OSH management requirements based on the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health Regulation No. 1014 of 2008 and Bapeten regulation no. 4 of 2020. The aim of this research was to determine the extent of implementation of OSH management in terms of completeness of management requirements, radiation protection, room design and personal protective equipment (PPE) implemented in Radiology Department in hospital type B, Sumedang Regency.Methods: This research was a descriptive qualitative by conducting direct observations, interviews and documentation.Results: The results of the research on the design of the room without ventilation outside the CT Scan room, this aims to minimize the dose of scattered radiation that comes out, decentralization and good air circulation, has warning signs and directions for radiation danger areas, the radiation protection equipment is quite complete. Implementation of radiation management has been carried out, but not completely, there is no health monitoring at the end of the work period and upon termination of work. Radiation safety verification has been carried out periodically, quality control is only carried out externally, so it does not meet standards, internal quality control cannot be carried out because there is no survey meter.Conclusions: This research was conducted in Radiology Department room in August 2023, the results showed that in the CT Scan room there was no air ventilation, there was radiation dose monitoring for staff, overall, Radiology Installation hospital type B in Sumedang Regency area had implemented occupational safety and health.

Abstract

The provision of exposure factors is the key to producing quality radiographs in providing accurate anatomical information. This study aimed to determine the difference in anatomical information from radiographs of cranium examination as an indication of radiograph quality in the selection of several exposure factors. The study was conducted at Hermina Arcamanik Hospital in April 2024. A phantom cranium was used as the object, and the exposure factor was set at a variation of the tube voltage value 60-80kV with the tube current value fixed at 20mAs. The radiographs were evaluated for anatomical details and analyzed through the Friedman test. The results showed that the anatomical information for each tube voltage value was 4.18 for 60kV, 3.91 for 65kV, 3.50 for 70kV, 2.27 for 75kV, and 1.14 for 80kV. The value of 60kV/20mAs has the highest mean rank value indicating that this exposure factor provides the most optimal anatomical detail

Abstract

This study aimed to calculate and compare the estimated organ absorption dose, risk of cancer due to exposure, and dose received by the gonads for women and men in radio diagnostic examinations with different projections. Radiographic examination of the abdomen (with anterior-posterior (AP) and posterior-anterior (PA) projections) and lumbar vertebrae (with anterior-posterior projection (AP), Right posterior-anterior oblique (RPO), and Left posterior-anterior oblique (LPO)), were performed. Software based on the Monte Carlo program has been used to calculate the estimated absorbed dose of the organ, the risk of cancer due to exposure, and the dose received by the gonads with different projections. The results showed that the PA projection on abdominal examination resulted in lower absorbed doses for the colon wall, liver, pancreas, and small intestine wall compared to the AP projection. The AP projection resulted in a higher absorbed dose than the oblique projection on the lumbar vertebral examination. RPO and LPO projections on lumbar spine examination produce different absorbed doses in organs. The colon wall, kidneys, pancreas, and prostate in men received lower doses using LPO, and the bladder, liver, ovaries (women), small intestine wall, and uterus in women received lower doses using projected RPO. The risk of cancer due to radiation exposure on abdominal examination is 35%-51% reduced using the PA projection, and on examination of the lumbar spine 40%-45% is reduced using the LPO projection. The dose received by the gonads showed that the ovarian dose reduction was 54% using the abdominal PA projection and 11% using the lumbar RPO. The dose reduction in the testicles was shown to be significant with the use of the abdominal PA projection.
