Abstract

Wiring between microcomputer(minimum system either microcontroller) and alphanumeric LCD on 8 bit standart mode requires 11 pins. Assignment on large number of I/O pins designated for LCD interfacing is inefficient and unsuitable when applied for compact microcontroller AT89C2051 which has only 15 I/O pins. Interfacing to LCD can be simplified using I2C LCD KIT with additional cost and reconfiguring the functionality of I/O as consequences. The availability of library as a driver program on IDE compiler is uncertain since there are many brands compete on microcomputer as their product. This research exhibits serial to parallel method to simplify and save I/O resources utilizing a digital 74595 functional logic into a script of program to drive and communicate with LCD. The algorithm was tested on VSM Proteus application program and result shows a good agreement between design and visualization. This study has shown that the wiring technique and algorithm works well yielding 72.2% more efficient compared to standard wiring.

Abstract

The Pineapple Community Group (PONARI) is one of those recommended by the Kampar Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) to provide assistance. The Covid-19 pandemic condition affected PONARI's business, where Pokmas experienced a drastic decrease in income. The occurrence of the pandemic caused many government agency activities or events, wedding parties, which usually place orders for pineapple processed products, to not be carried out. Marketing efforts to other places such as entrusting them to gift shops are very limited because the processed products do not yet have a PIRT permit, even though the demand from gift shops is actually quite a lot. Thus, there is a need for assistance for PONARI so that they can rise from adversity due to the pandemic. The form of assistance for PONARI carried out in this community service program is the application of production machines, improvement of packaging labels, promotional materials and media. The results of community service activities are in the form of two production machines that have been implemented and have a positive impact on the production process. Other results are in the form of more modern and attractive packaging labels, promotional materials with attractive taglines and promotional media to support digital marketing.

Abstract

An essential required course in electrical engineering, computer science, and informatics is the microprocessor. Students may consider using Proteus software in cases wherein microprocessor trainers are unavailable. Yet, the simulation of the 8031 microprocessor-based minimum system circuit that Proteus executes fails to operate correctly, despite the fact that the source code and circuit wiring comply to programming and circuit theory standards. This is in contrast to other microcontroller-based minimum system circuits that it can be simulated successfully and as intended. This research aims to get hints in programming the 8031 minimum system circuit simulated using Proteus. The problem was investigated and analyzed by observing the parameters that become the properties of each element in the circuit, especially the RAM, then comparing them with the specifications of the microprocessor. The experimental results showed that some adjustments on the program code were necessary either written using assembly language or C program code.
