Abstract

In spurring increased regional agricultural production, improving the irrigation network is the lifeblood of regional economic growth. It is hoped that handling the irrigation network will be able to stimulate agricultural production and restore the welfare of farmers in order to improve the economy while protecting the environment. As a first step in improving, maintaining and rehabilitating irrigation networks, careful planning is needed to obtain work data according to implementation standards and specifications. Posso Irrigation Area is one of the irrigation areas under the authority of the North Gorontalo Regency Government which is located in Kwandang District. Condition of irrigation network D.I. Posso is currently experiencing a decline in function and capacity due to sediment buildup and channel conditions that require maintenance. With a channel length of 1,381 meters that requires maintenance and cleaning of sediment and requires a physical budget of IDR 186,000,000.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Six Million Rupiah), which is expected to restore the function of the channel in the irrigation network Posso.

Abstract

Abstract: The utilization of GIS-Based Spatial Information for Mapping the Landslide Vulnerability Levels in Sumalata District Sumalata district is an area with hilly topography which is dominated by relatively steep slopes. The landslide disaster frequently occurs in this study setting. This study aims to explore the utilization of GIS-Based Spatial Information for mapping the landslide vulnerability levels in Sumalata District. Based on the observation on March to April 2024, there are 7 landslide disaster occurred. However, the disaster can be minimized by mapping the landslide-prone area. The approach used in this study is a land unit approach. The classification of land unit is obtained from the overlay of thematic map which consist of maps of rainfall, land cover, slopes, rocks and soil type maps. The result of this study shows that the classification of the landslide vulnerability categorized in three aspects, there are low grade with 49,304 Ha, medium grade with 13.409,71 Ha, and high grade with 16.921,36 Ha.

Abstract

Slums are a problem faced by almost all major cities in Indonesia and other developing countries. The development of residential areas in the planning region is progressing rapidly, influenced by various policies that also affect spatial utilization activities. This study focuses on slums in Lekobalo Village, Gorontalo City, examining physical conditions, socio-economic conditions, and their impacts. Using a typological approach, an analysis was conducted on the characteristics of residential buildings, density, and irregularity. The aim is to identify the main problems and formulate intervention priorities for better infrastructure management and regional development. This was achieved through descriptive quantitative methods, utilizing both primary data (collected directly from the field) and secondary data (from relevant literature). The results indicate that the area is divided into two main categories: waterfront areas and hilly areas. Floods endanger communities living in the waterfront zones, while the hilly areas face significant challenges due to many houses being constructed on steep slopes without adhering to safe construction practices, thereby increasing the risk of landslides. Settlement patterns reveal a high concentration of population in limited areas, with a building irregularity rate of 59.63% and an average building density of 51.22%. Overall, the condition of residential buildings is generally poor, with 70.11% of buildings being classified as irregular.
