Abstract

Hospitals are very complex, dynamic, capital-intensive, and labor-intensive institutions that are multi-disciplinary and are influenced by an ever-changing environment (Permenkes No. 340 of 2010). Medical Record is a file containing notes and documents about patient identity, examination, treatment, actions and other services that have been provided to patients (Permenkes No. 269/MENKES/PER/III/2008). The daily inpatient census is a collection of patient data entering and leaving the ward. The daily inpatient census contains information on all incoming, transferred, transferred, and discharged patients both alive and dead for 24 hours. Therefore, the researcher wanted to review the implementation of the daily inpatient census at Elisabeth Hospital Medan related to the implementation of the census in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SPO), the daily census flow, the timeliness of the implementation, the comparison of manual census data and the obstacles in carrying out the daily inpatient census. The method used in this research is interview and active participation observation. Based on the above results regarding the manual census and SHAPIRA in St. Ignatius Elisabeth Hospital Medan, Shapira's census, the number of patients always exceeds the bed capacity, even three times the available bed capacity.

Abstract

Malaria is a disease caused by parasites (protozoa) from the genus Plasmodium which live and reproduce in human red blood cells. This disease is naturally transmitted through the bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes. This study aims to determine the level of student knowledge about malaria in epidemiology courses. This research was conducted at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan in October using descriptive research methods. The population used was all level 1 and level 2 health information management study program students at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan with a sample size of 15 people. The instruments used were interviews and observations. The form of questionnaire used is a closed questionnaire, where the respondent chooses the correct answer according to the answer chosen in the research questionnaire. The research results showed that students with knowledge understood (73.7%) and did not understand (13.15%) it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of level I and II students of the Health Information Management study program knew about malaria in the epidemiology course, therefore students had to learn and understand and apply malaria prevention in epidemiology courses.

Abstract

The daily census of inpatients is the number of inpatients starting at 00.00 to 24.00. In its implementation at RSE Medann involving nurses and data processing officers in the medical record section. However there are problems with medical record officers, completeness of data, effectiveness data processing, and timeliness of information presentation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate data management activities daily census of inpatients per day at the Medan RSE. This research is a descriptive study with quantitative and qualitative approaches, with the objects of daily census data management activities being inpatients, nurses, medical records officers, heads of medical records installations, and heads of inpatient rooms as subjects. Data were collected using questionnaires and checklists, analyzed by quantitative and qualitative analysis. From the results of the study, it is known that the inpatient data information in each room is incomplete, which will affect the effectiveness of data processing. It is concluded that this error occurs from two sides, namely the input side and the output side. On the input side, namely the education of medical record officers is not appropriate, data is incomplete on the length of care, age, debtor, diagnosis, recapitulation has not been completed, from the output side within one month the information cannot be known in the following month. It is hoped that there will be standard operating procedures and computer-based medical record systems.
