Adolescents are one of the groups at risk for nutritional problems. Nutritional problems in adolescents can be caused by food intake, physical activity, economy, social, and culture. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 6 Kupang, Alak Sub-district, Kupang City. This research was purposed to analyze the correlation between breakfast habits and physical activity with the nutritional status of adolescents at SMP Negeri 6 Kupang (state junior high school). This research is a correlational analysis and the design approach is a cross-sectional study, with a sample of 100 students which consist of students in grades VII, VIII and IX. The instruments used in this research were nutritional status measurement sheet, breakfast habit questionnaire, PAL (Physical Activity Level), and antropometric measurement (body weight and height). The results of research using the Spearman's Rank Correlation Test show that there is a significant relationship between breakfast habits (p = 0.000 < 0.05) and nutritional status of adolescents and has a level correlation coefficient of 0.594 or sufficient. Meanwhile, there is no significant relationship between physical activity and nutritional status (p=0.940 > 0.05) and has a correlation coefficient of -0.008 or very weak. In conclusion, that breakfast habits are related to the nutritional status of adolescents, where as physical activity is not related to nutritional status of adolescents.

Abstract

Insufficient breastfeeding can cause malnutrition babies, making them more susceptible disease. Breastfeeding baby for 6 months without additional food, drink is called exclusive breastfeeding. Improper breastfeeding position and attachment can result in low breast milk production. Apart from making the nipples feel sore and causing breast milk not to come out optimally, incorrect breastfeeding techniques can also make the baby refuse to breastfeed, which has a negative impact on breast milk production. The aim of research determine the influence of the position and attachment of breastfeeding mothers and their role on the effectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding in the Oesapa Community Health Center working area. The research design is case control which is used together with observational analysis as research methodology. Complete sampling and significance threshold of α=0.05, 27 case samples and 27 control samples. This study, data were analyzed using methods, univariate, bivariate (chi square statistical test to assess the influence position and attachment style of breastfeeding mothers on the success of exclusive breastfeeding in the Oesapa Community Health Center), multivariate (logistic regression). statistical test to identify the most dominant variable). attachment and body posture in relation to effectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding. The results of the study showed that there was relationship between attachment (p-value= 0.000, OR=9.534), position (p-value 0.000, OR=12.025) and the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Recommended that health workers facilitate and motivate the implementation of breastfeeding, especially exclusive breastfeeding, to their citizens, increase the role of health workers educating breastfeeding mothers to apply the correct latch and position.

Abstract

Breast milk is the first and main natural food for newborns. Breast milk can meet the baby's needs for energy and nutrition during the first 4-6 months of life, so that it can achieve optimal growth. To find out the factors related to exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Naibonat Health Center, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. This study uses an analytical survey research design. The population in this study was 296 with a sample consisting of 119 toddlers with a proportional random sampling technique. The collection of research data using questionnaires, this research co-investigator was adopted from the research of Sius Aryanto Zudy in 2021 (Zudy Sius Aryanto, 2022). The data was analyzed using the chi square statistical test with a significance level of α=0.05, using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal knowledge (p=0.027)) and maternal attitudes (p=0.027) with exclusive breastfeeding while age (p=0.316), education level (p=0.235), occupation (p=0.373), family support (p=0.225) were not related to exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of the Naibonat Health Center.
