Abstract

Mask is a cosmetic preparation used on the face to get a tightening and cleaning effect from dirt attached. Mangosteen peel which chemically contains xanthones as active chemicals that are antioxidants that can replace the function of chemical drugs to overcome acne on the face. This study aims to find out about the effect of using mangosteen peel masks on the healing results of acne on acne-prone facial skin. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method (pseudo-experiment). The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and experiments. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The results of the research on making masks have a smooth texture in accordance with the texture of masks in general, a fairly distinctive smell, attractive colors or pigmentation, appropriate and good adhesion and stick to the face and hands, so that the mask is liked by all panelists who have been tested as many as 14 panelists.

Abstract

Buah senggani (Melastoma Malabathricum L) merupakan bahan alami yang memiliki potensi menjadi pewarna alami dalam pembuatan sediaan blush on cream karena memiliki kandungan antosianin (pigmen warna). Blush on merupakan sediaan kosmetik yang digunakan sebagai pewarna pipi dengan sentuhan artistik dalam tata rias wajah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis sediaan blush on cream menggunakan ekstrak buah senggani sebagai pewarna alami ditinjau dari uji laboratorium (uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji poles, uji homogenitas), uji organoleptik (warna, aroma, tekstur) dan uji hedonik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode observasi, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari uji laboratorium pada F1, F2, dan F3 sediaan blush on cream menggunakan ekstrak buah senggani menunjukkan hasil uji pH yang sesuai dengan standar pH kulit yaitu 4-7, uji daya sebar belum memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan, uji poles sudah memenuhi standar, dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan hasil yang homogen.
