<![CDATA[Topical corticosteroids have many benefits, but if used incorrectly, they can cause adverse effects. The underlying reasons for the abuse of topical corticosteroids on the face are skin lightening agents and acne treatment. The purpose of conducting a literature study is to obtain a clinical picture and analyze the detrimental effects of inappropriate use of topical corticosteroids on the face, as well as to raise awareness among the general public regarding this issue. The method used is to analyze to obtain data from journals with appropriate keywords. The results of the review showed that the most common side effects were the onset of acne and exacerbation of preexisting lesions, followed by the face of corticosteroid dependence. Recommendations for the use of creams with topical corticosteroids found that 59.3% were of non-physician sources. Duration of use varies widely from 1 week to 30 years. The adverse effects of topical corticosteroids on the face are a major problem that requires interventions involving educational, legal, and managerial approaches to address them.ABSTRAKKortikosteroid topikal mempunyai banyak manfaat, tetapi jika tidak tepat penggunaan dapat menyebabkan efek yang merugikan. Alasan yang mendasari penyalahgunaan kortikosteroid topikal di wajah yaitu agen pencerah kulit dan mengatasi jerawat. Tujuan dilakukannya studi literatur adalah mendapatkan gambaran klinis dan menganalisis efek merugikan dari penggunaan kortikosteroid topikal yang tidak tepat pada wajah, sekaligus meningkatkan kesadaran bagi masyarakat luas yang berkaitan dengan masalah ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah menganalisis untuk memperoleh data dari jurnal dengan kata kunci yang sesuai. Hasil review menunjukkan efek samping yang paling umum terjadi adalah timbulnya jerawat dan eksaserbasi lesi yang sudah ada sebelumnya, diikuti wajah ketergantungan kortikosteroid. Rekomendasi penggunaan krim dengan kortikosteroid topikal menemukan bahwa 59,3% bersumber dari non-dokter. Durasi penggunaan sangat bervariasi mulai dari 1 minggu hingga 30 tahun. Efek merugikan kortikosteroid topikal di wajah merupakan masalah besar yang membutuhkan intervensi yang melibatkan pendekatan pendidikan, hukum, dan manajerial untuk mengatasinya.]]>
