The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the organizational performance. Four factors, motivation, ability, roles, and situation, will be in-dept identified to explore how each factor positively impacts the organizational performance. The study is conducted, using applied qualitative descriptive approach and analysis method. The fours factors (Motivation, Ability, Roles, Organizational Support) are adopted from a few previous studies. Each factor is studied and analyzed based on empirical papers that have been observed, tested, and experienced by vaiours articles from different countries’ authors. After the description of each factor, it is found that a number of organizations have been considerably affected by these four factors. In addition, each factor is found to be very dependent to one another. A constant growth of organizational performance should be steadily dependent on the four factors, meaning that the organization should apply all the four factors at the same time to ensure its constant increasing performance. It is noted that an absence of one factor will definitely lead to the fall and decrease of the performance of the organization and the presence of the four factors at the same time will definitely ensure the increasing performance of the organization.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of social media on students' academic performance. The case study is based on the academic performance of students majoring in business administration at a higher education institution in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. A conceptual framework was developed from previous research which includes social media information, social media innovation, social media entertainment, social media knowledge generation, and student performance. Quantitative methods were used to distribute questionnaires to 376 respondents. A multistage sampling technique was conducted by nonprobability sampling, using judgmental sampling to select university students, quota sampling to calculate the sample size, and convenience sampling to distribute the questionnaire online, using several popular social networks. Before collecting data, the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) was used to validate the constructs. Factor loadings and Cronbach's alpha were tested for reliability, using 50 respondents as a pilot study, single and multiple linear regressions were applied to test hypotheses, and correlation matrices were used to identify variable relationships. The results indicated that social media information, social media innovation, and social media entertainment have a strong effect on social media knowledge creation. In addition, social media knowledge creation has a strong impact on student performance.

Abstract

Employee retention is a key success factor for organizations worldwide. Human resource management issues include curriculum development, employee capacity building, and lifelong learning. This manuscript proposes a conceptual framework for defining the relationship among curriculum development, employee capacity building, lifelong learning, career development, career success, and employee retention in the ACLEDA banking sector. Thus, this manuscript aims to determine the possibility of enhancing employee retention for employees in the banking sector in the ACLEDA bank sectors through curriculum development, employee capacity building, lifelong learning, career development, and career success opportunities granted to them by the organization. From this point of view, the service organization’s ability to retain talented employees and the low turnover rate can cause great inconvenience to the organization. The purposive sampling technique applies to collect data for this study. The research design for the current study is quantitative, with 453 participants. Item-Objective Congruence and Cronbach’s Alpha were employed to validate the constructs. Then, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used to verify convenient and discriminant validity and goodness of fit indices. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was carried out to test the relationship among variables. The results of this paper examine the relationship among curriculum development, employee capacity building, lifelong learning, career development, and career success as critical factors affecting employee retention in the banking sector in Cambodia. The results of SEM indicated that curriculum development, employee capacity building, lifelong learning, career development, and career success as critical factors regarding the organization’s ability to retain its employees.

Abstract

Even though mobile banking has become popular in Cambodia, its adoption among university students is still a question. Hence, this study aims to investigate the factors influencing mobile banking adoption among university students in Cambodia. The study extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT-2) by integrating Service Quality (SERVQUAL) model, and Diffusion of Innovation (DIT) theory to examine factors driving mobile banking adoption. The study uses a questionnaire to collect data from 520 university students. By using structural equation modeling, the study found that compatibility and observability affect intention through performance expectancy and effort expectancy. The study also found that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, price value, and habit all had a significant positive effect on the intention to adopt mobile banking. However, social influence and facilitating condition do not have an impact on intention. At the final path, the study found that performance expectancy, responsiveness, tangible, and intention have a positive impact on the students' behavior to use mobile banking.

The study is conducted using qualitative methods based on previous recent publications and reports by both public and private industries. In addition, three models of motivational theories such as equity, expectancy, and two-factor theory are employed in this study. The findings from these comparative studies from previous researches and corporate report show that the four factors have been found its alignment between each other. Job satisfaction leads to job commitment, job commitment leads to higher job engagement, and higher job engagement leads to higher employee performance.
