Abstract

The progress of the Halal Value Chain (HVC) ecosystem cannot be separated from the role of the government and other formal and informal institutions. In the HVC ecosystem, every organization/institution plays an important role in creating a halalan thayyiban business industry zone. One of the ways to promote halalization in supporting economic progress is to implement it through strengthening the Halal Value Chain in the economy. The purpose of this paper is to offer a reconstruction of the Halalan Thayiban business concept by strengthening the integration and interconnection of each subject in the HVC ecosystem. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, it is hoped that it will provide an overview of the concept of advancing a real HVC ecosystem. The results of this analysis will provide a long-term picture of the importance of promoting and accelerating HVC in terms of quality, not quantity. This study will discuss the reconstruction of the halalan thayyiban business concept and the importance of initiating an economic industry based on Islamic business ethics. By providing an overview and analysis of HVC acceleration efforts, it is hoped that this research will be oriented toward building the long term economy. Abstract

The implementation of Qanun (Islamic Law) Aceh No. 11 of 2018, mandating all financial institutions in the province of Aceh, Indonesia, to operate solely on Islamic principles from January 4, 2022, sparked protests from certain parties, and thus became a nationwide controversy. Some media reports often depicted the Qanun as causing heightened unemployment and poverty due to the exclusion of conventional banking. This research investigates the discourse contestation surrounding the prohibition of conventional banks in Aceh. Employing a philosophical qualitative approach, the study analyzes instances of miscommunication, misperceptions, and resistance concerning the Qanun's implementation. Primary data collection involved interviews with diverse stakeholders, including grassroots communities, members of the Sharia Economic Society (MES), the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI), Financial Services Authority (OJK) officials, religious leaders, and economists.  Researcher observations conducted in 2019 and 2022 in Aceh further enriched the data. Secondary data, comprising online news and relevant documents, supplemented the findings. Through triangulation techniques and an integration-interconnection paradigm, the study revealed that the perceived conflict was largely amplified by media portrayals of protests, often lacking comprehensive and objective analysis. Consequently, this study proposes solutions, strategies, and models to facilitate the effective implementation of the Qanun, aiming to realize its intended benefits and contribute to Aceh's sustainable progress through the advancement of maqashid sharia.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Transisi ke Keuangan Syariah di Aceh: Miskomunikasi, Mispersepsi, dan Resistensi.

Abstract

Strategy is of course needed to face risks in every bank, both conventional and sharia banks. One strategy that can be implemented is diversification. Diversification is a financial strategy by placing funds in various investment tools with very different levels of risk and potential profits, and usually this strategy allocates assets. This research examines the strategies used by Bank Muamalat in dealing with/responding to problems that occur. The research results show that one of the strategies carried out by Bank Muamalat is to emphasize its risks through diversification. The financing diversification strategy implemented by Bank Muamalat is to produce healthy financing growth. So that Bank Muamalat makes improvements in end-to-end procedures and maintains the quality of financing by determining risks that will occur. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The data used is secondary data, namely data sourced from existing literature and references, such as in journals, scientific papers, encyclopedias and other data sources related to the research topic. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and verification. This research needs to be carried out because the aim of diversifying is to get as much profit as possible and avoid the threat of loss. Especially at Muamalat Bank, which currently has a lot of competitors, so the bank must be able to manage the losses that it fears will occur in the future. However, of course the strategy carried out is not only diversification, but of course a fairly strong strategy is also needed in Bank Muamalat's risk management. There are things that need to be done, such as identifying risks that will occur, measuring risks that might occur, and how to manage risks that are occurring.
