Abstract

One aspect that concerns stakeholders in a university is the study duration of students because this is one of the determinants of the quality of a university. In the Mathematics Education study program, at Universitas PGRI Semarang, there has never been any research on the length of study of students. So we conducted this study to determine the factors that significantly influence students' study duration. We applied Cox regression to data on students of the Mathematics Education study program at Universitas PGRI Semarang from entering 2017 until graduating in various years from 2021 to 2023 with predictor variables of Cumulative Achievement Index, gender, parental educational background, and student’s participation in the organizations. These data were collected using a questionnaire and data triangulation was confirmed through interviews. Meanwhile, the students’ study duration data is the secondary data that has been documented in the information system of Universitas PGRI Semarang. Analysis using Cox Regression is very suitable for the case study in this study because the dependent variable in this study is survival data. In addition, Cox Regression is known as a method that is relatively easy, simple and does not require survival data to have a certain distribution. From the analysis results, it was found that the Cumulative Achievement Index is the factor that has the most significant influence on the length of student study.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain the Cox regression equation in managing student study duration data and to determine variables or factors that significantly influence student study duration. We used data from 2017 FPMIPATI (Fakultas Pendidikan Matematika, Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Teknologi Informasi) UPGRIS (Universitas PGI Semarang) Mathematics Education study program students which consisted of four predictor variables including gender, cumulative achievement index, parents' educational background, and organizational participation. From the results of the survival analysis, it was found that the factor that had a significant influence on the duration of student studies was the cumulative achievement index.

Abstract

Berdasarkan latar belakang penelitian ini membahas terkait pengaruh model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 11 Semarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pengaruh model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL dan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika pada materi statistika regresi linier. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan populasinya adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 11 Semarang. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI-C2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI-D2 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik, yang dapat ditunjukkan dengan nilai t_hitung sebesar 7,892 yang lebih besar dari t_tabel sebesar 2,03011. Selain itu, nilai rata-rata post-tes di kelas eksperimen meningkat menjadi 80,94, nilai rata-rata post-test di kelas kontrol meningkat hanya sebesar 60,86.
