Abstract

Working on a project requires careful planning, so that it can be carried out with optimal time and cost. However, in practice, the implementation of project work usually encounters obstacles that cause schedule delays which result in cost overruns. Therefore, to determine the accuracy of the implementation of a project, routine evaluation and analysis is carried out with the aim of knowing how the progress of a project is progressing. In this research, the Earned Value Analysis method is used to examine trends in schedule variance and cost variance in a period (time) during the project. Based on the calculations and analysis carried out, it can be concluded that there were no delays in the implementation of the Kapal X construction project at X company, the work was carried out according to the predetermined schedule, even faster than the previously planned schedule. Based on the results of the analysis of project completion projections in terms of time, the results for the projected remaining work time (ETS) were 268 days and for the projected total project completion time to completion (EAS) it was 594 days or 306 days faster than the initial plan of 900 days.

Abstract

Machine downtime is a daily issue in the manufacturing industry. Handling downtime occurrences on machines is necessary to improve productivity and the quality of production outcomes. This becomes a benchmark for manufacturing companies to compete in the era of globalization. The DMAIC approach can be utilized to systematically analyze and resolve issues, including downtime problems. Research findings indicate that hot runner mold is a priority for improvement at PT XYZ. Through the Define, Measure, and Analyze stages of DMAIC, the main problems are clearly identified, their causes deeply analyzed, and effective solutions developed and tested. The implementation of these solutions through the Improve and Control stages successfully enhanced production efficiency, reduced downtime, and improved mold quality.

Abstract

A construction testing laboratory is a special facility used to carry out various types of testing and analysis of construction materials, structures and construction components. It is always busy with customers, so sometimes there are huge queues of customers. Thus, research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the construction testing laboratory queuing system. The method used in this research is Queuing Theory. Queuing Theory is a theory related to mathematical studies and queues or waiting lines. Queuing theory is always related to all aspects of the customer's situation in obtaining a service. Analysis of material testing queues in construction laboratories using the M/M/S model shows increased efficiency after adding servers. Previously, the server usability rate was 50%, with a queue time of 0.5%. After adding servers, the usability rate increases to 75%, queue time decreases, and the probability of customers being served increases to 2.11%. These results are the basis for recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction .

Abstract

The operational efficiency of the warehouse is a crucial factor in supporting the smooth running of the supply chain, especially in the inbound and outbound processes. The objective of this research is to analyse the root cause of the problem and reduce waste in the form of waiting time, which has a significant impact on the performance of PT XYZ's warehouse. This research applies the Lean Six Sigma approach, with tools in the form of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to map the process flow, as well as the implementation of 5S as a proposed improvement to improve process order and work efficiency. The results showed that the high waiting time was caused by a lack of staff training, limited transport equipment, a continued reliance on manual processes and an inefficient warehouse layout. Suggested solutions included sorting goods by frequency of use, organising the warehouse layout, cleaning the warehouse regularly and developing clear SOPs. Implementation of the improvement recommendations resulted in a 51.38% increase in process cycle efficiency. This research shows that the Lean Six Sigma approach is effective in improving the efficiency of the warehouse process in a sustainable way.

Abstract

One form of employee behavior is the desire to leave (turnover), where employees decide to leave their jobs. The employee turnover rate over the past three years at PT. Daya Tani Sembada has been above the normal limit each year, indicating that the company's turnover is high. This may suggest potential issues in human resource management or a mismatch between employees and the organization. Due to the high turnover rate, the company needs to conduct recruitment to replace these employees in order to maintain performance levels. Therefore, the researcher aims to understand the influence using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. Based on this research, it can be determined that job demands influence job satisfaction mediated by the work-life balance variable, and there is no influence of job resources on job satisfaction mediated by the work-life balance variable.

Abstract

The role of employees is crucial in achieving the company's goals, as employees perform various activities from input to output in customer service. The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of employee placement, motivation, and career development variables on employee performance and employee productivity at Bank XYZ. This research employs the PLS-SEM method implemented using the statistical software SmartPLS. The results of this study show that the employee placement variable has p-values of 0.033 and t-values of 2.137 on the employee performance variable. The employee placement variable has p-values of 0.819 and t-values of 0.229 on employee productivity. The motivation variable has p-values of 0.000 and t-values of 4.141 on employee performance. The motivation variable has p-values of 0.027 and t-values of 2.217 on employee productivity. The career development variable has p-values of 0.395 and t-values of 0.851 on employee performance. The career development variable has p-values of 0.688 and t-values of 0.402 on employee productivity. The employee performance variable has p-values of 0.000 and t-values of 4.273 on employee productivity.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi senantiasa melakukan pembenahan berkelanjutan untuk memperbaiki kualitas mahasiswa. Pembenahan secara berkelanjutan ini mengharuskan mahasiswa beradaptasi dengan tuntutan akademik yang berubah seiring dengan perkembangan zaman. Perubahan model pembelajaran ini mempengaruhi kondisi mental mahasiswa. Ditandai dengan munculnya indikasi beban mental seperti rasa lelah, cemas bahkan stres. Dalam beberapa penelitian, terjadinya beban kerja mental diduga dipengaruhi oleh faktor kemampuan mahasiswa ketika melaksanakan manajemen waktu. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni guna mengetahui korelasi antara manajemen waktu dengan tingkat beban kerja mental pada model perkuliahan luring dan model perkuliahan daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 76 orang mahasiswa program studi teknik industri UPN Veteran Jawa Timur angkatan 2018 serta 2019. Teknik analisis yang dipakai yakni uji korelasi. Sesuai hasil analisis korelasi Spearsman’s didapatkan koefisien korelasi sebanyak -0,365 yang menunjukan adanya korelasi lemah antara manajemen waktu pada perkuliahan luring (XL) dan tingkat beban kerja mental (Y). Sedangkan koefisien korelasi sebanyak -0,752 memperlihatkan terdapatnya korelasi yang kuat antara manajemen waktu pada perkuliahan daring (XD) dengan tingkat beban kerja mental (Y). Nilai koefisien korelasi negatif memiliki arti bahwasanya terdapat hubungan tidak searah yang signifikan antara variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat, dimana makin menurunnya kinerja manajemen waktu (X) maka tingkat beban kerja mental (Y) akan makin meningkat begitu pula sebaliknya.
