Abstract

The Inquiry Learning Model is a problem-based learning or investigation carried out by searching for truth or knowledge that requires critical, creative thinking and the ability to use intuition. Inquiry learning is a learning pattern to help students learn to formulate problems and test their own opinions and have awareness of their abilities. Learning begins with posing a problem and question. Students are required to think logically, analytically and critically in searching for, investigating and finding answers to the problems in question. The effectiveness of the inquiry learning model cannot be separated from the active role of students in the learning process. The learning material is not provided directly, but the role of students in this model is to search and find the learning material themselves, while the teacher acts as a facilitator and guide for students to learn. There are five stages taken in carrying out inquiry learning, namely: a) formulating problems to be solved by students; b) determine a temporary answer or better known as a hypothesis or problem; c) look for information, data and facts needed to answer hypotheses or problems; d) draw conclusions or generalizations; and e) draw conclusions.

Abstract

The examination approach utilized is engaging subjective which intends to portray the problem solving profile of understudies at SMPN 6 Palu using FI and FD cognitive styles regarding number pattern sequence material. The research subjects were 2 students from class VIII of SMPN 6 Palu, comprising of high capacity understudies who had a field subordinate kognitif style and high capacity understudies who had a field free kognitif style. Information assortment techniques in this research were assisted by the GEFT test, number sequence pattern test, and interview guide. Information examination methods incorporate information buildup, information show, and reaching determinations. The validity’s data using time triagulation is carried out by collecting data at different times. The results of the research show that subjects with an independent field cognitive style are able to solve problems carrying out all stages of Polya problem solving well, subjects with a dependent field cognitive style are able to solve problems carrying out all stages of Polya problem solving in the adequate category

Abstract

In order to describe the implementation of PjBL in the Mathematics Learning Media course as a learning assessment material, a classroom action research (PTK) was conducted. The research subjects were 3rd semester students of Mathematics Education at Alkhairaat University Palu in the academic year 2023/2024. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, which were then analysed using the Miles & Huberman model. In addition, data triangulation was also carried out to obtain valid and credible data. The results of this study resulted in 7 (seven) evaluation materials, namely the effectiveness of PjBL, challenges of PjBL implementation, students' reactions, students' skills, students' creativity, use of learning media and recommendations for improvement. With these findings, it is hoped that it can be our concern so that we can correct deficiencies and improve the learning process.
