Abstract

Background: According to WHO in 2020, almost 90% of normal births experience perineal tears. Based on data from the Maja Health Center, Lebak Banten Regency, in 2022 the number of normal deliveries was 354 people, 178 of whom had grade I and II perineal tears, 1 mother had grade IV perineal tears and 1 of them had an open wound case on the 3rd day postpartum. One solution for postpartum mothers is to use boiled coriander seeds and soursop leaves.Writing Objective: To determine the effectiveness of coriander seed decoction and soursop leaf decoction for perineal wound healing in postpartum women at the Maja Community Health Center, Lebak Regency, Banten.Research Method : Quasy Experiment with post-test only control group design method. The samples were postpartum women with perineal wounds in May-June 2023 who gave birth at the Sukatani Health Center, Bekasi Regency, with a total of 34 samples using a purposive sampling technique. The intervention was given for 10 minutes 2 times a day in the morning and evening after bathing starting on the 2nd day until the 9th day post partum. The researchers measured perineal wound healing using the REEDA Scale with a value of 0-15. Bivariate analysis using independent t-test.Research Results: The average perineal wound healing in postpartum women after giving coriander seed decoction was 2.41 and the average perineal wound healing in postpartum women after giving soursop leaf decoction was 7.18. The results of the independent t-test obtained a p value = 0.000.Conclusions and Suggestions: There is the effectiveness of coriander seed decoction and soursop leaf decoction for healing perineal wounds in postpartum mothers. Postpartum mothers who experience perineal wounds are expected to be able to carry out non-pharmacological treatment in accelerating the healing process of perineal wounds, including using coriander seed decoction or soursop leaf decoction. Besides being cheap, these materials are also available around the yard. In addition, it is expected that postpartum mothers pay attention to personal hygiene and physical activity so as not to overdo it because it affects the healing of perineal wounds.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is still low, efforts to overcome this are by increasing the quality and quantity of breast milk, including giving oxytocin massage which increases the hormone oxytocin which can calm the mother so that breast milk comes out automatically and consuming Moringa leaves because they contain phytosterols which can increase breast milk production. Purpose of writing: To determine the comparison of oxytocin massage and consumption of Moringa leaves on increasing breast milk production at the Salsabila Mom & Baby SPA Clinic, Periuk District, Tangerang City in 2023. Research Method: quasi experimental design with pretest-posttest design with control group design. The sample of mothers breastfeeding 3 days after giving birth whose breast milk production was not smooth in December 2023 was 44 samples using the accidental sampling technique. Bivariate analysis uses Paired Samples T-Test and Independent T-test. Research Results: The results of the univariate research were the average breast milk production from giving oxytocin massage before and after 7.00, the average breast milk production when giving Moringa leaves before and after was 4.41 and after 7.91. The results of bivariate research on breast milk production on giving oxytocin massage (p value = 0.000) and giving moringa leaves (p value = 0.000), the difference in the effect of giving oxytocin massage and giving moringa leaves (p value = 0.034). Conclusions and Suggestions: There is a difference in the effect of giving oxytocin massage and giving Moringa leaves on breast milk production. It is hoped that breastfeeding mothers can consume processed Moringa leaves regularly during breastfeeding in order to increase breast milk production, besides that, families can motivate mothers in the process of breastfeeding by providing oxytocin massage so that mothers can breastfeed exclusively.

Abstract

Until now the high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still a priority issue in the health sector. In pregnancy, nausea and vomiting can adversely affect pregnant women because it can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalances and can result in death. Alternative treatments to overcome nausea and vomiting can provide therapy from natural ingredients, namely ginger and honey. This study aims to determine the difference in the frequency of nausea and vomiting after administration of ginger and honey in first trimester pregnant women in Mangkualam village in the work area of Cimanggu Health Center in Pandeglang District in 2023. The research design used was quasi experimental with pre and post test group design. The sample in this study amounted to 20 respondents with the sampling technique in the study using total sampling technique that is taking a sample as a whole that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this study, the instrument in this study used Index Nausea Vomiting and Retching (INVR) to measure the scale of nausea and vomiting and ginger and honey to reduce nausea and vomiting. The results showed that there were significant differences between pregnant women before and after consuming ginger and honey with the results (p value <0.05). Ginger and honey can be used as an alternative medicine for pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting from natural ingredients.

Abstract

Emesis gravidarum results in a decrease in appetite, this situation can cause changes in electrolyte balance with potassium, calcium and sodium which result in changes in body metabolism. Therefore, in reducing nausea and vomiting pregnant women should use complementary therapies that can be done easily at home. Pharmacological function is antiemetic (anti-vomiting). Lime has flavonoids, the flavonoid content is known to neutralize acidic digestive fluids, releasing toxins in the body. This study was conducted to determine the differences in the effectiveness of giving a combination of boiled red ginger and mint leaves and a combination of lime and honey on the intensity of nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest with control group design. Sampling by purposive sampling. The sample size was 28 pregnant women in the first trimester at the Cikande Public Health Center, Serang Regency. The research instrument is an observation sheet. Data analysis used Mann Whitney statistical test. The results of his research using the Mann Whitney statistical test showed a p-value of 0.498, this means that there is no significant difference in decreasing the intensity of nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women at the Cikande Health Center, Serang Regency between those given boiled red ginger and mint leaves and a combination of lime. and honey for 4 days of treatment. It is hoped that health workers will provide education to pregnant women in traditional medicine or local wisdom.

Abstract

Pain is a form of discomfort felt by the mother at the time of delivery. One way that can be used to overcome the problem of pain during labor is to apply massage techniques. Among them, the counter pressure massage technique can be done in the lumbar region using the heel of the hand or fist. And the kneading technique is massaging or squeezing using the palms of the hands or fingers to pinch some parts of the skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counter pressure and kneading techniques on reducing pain intensity in the first stage of normal delivery in primiparous mothers at BPM Evi Sriaayuningtyas. Method This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The population in this study were all mothers who gave birth vaginally at BPM Evi Sriaayuningtyas in March-April 2022, a sample of 30 people was obtained using purposive sampling technique. Research Results: Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test, the value of < (0.000 < 0.05) stated that there was an effect of counter pressure techniques and kneading techniques on reducing pain intensity in the first stage. Conclusion The application of counter pressure techniques and kneading techniques can be used as a intervention in helping mothers in labor to cope with labor pain.
