Abstract

Undoubtedly, Islamic Education (PAI) plays an important role in helping people to realize the value of tolerance and harmony, especially for school-age children. Therefore, this research is intended to reveal the extent to which the role of PAI based on the merdeka curriculum that is currently rolling on the value of tolerance and harmony of students. This research uses a qualitative methodology combined with a case study approach strategy, thus making PGRI Kasihan Junior High School as the research subject. The results revealed that PAI learning based on the merdeka curriculum at SMP PGRI Kasihan raises the value of tolerance and harmony in the form of collaboration, care, and openness to the opinions of others. In this case too, the merdeka curriculum used is very helpful, through teachers and learning media that do not bore students, and make it easier to implement the values of tolerance and harmony learned.

Abstract

Modern politics, which is of interest to some, has detrimental effects, including on civil society. The main purpose of this research is to determine the impact of modern politics on the subject of research, namely civil society in Indonesia. Through a study of the political khittah of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama, it is corroborated with the theory of civil society from Muhammad Abdul Fattah Santoso and K.H. Asep Saifuddin Chalim. This research uses a literature study method that collects data in the form of books and scientific journals related to the research theme. This research suggests that the impact of modern politics on civil society is quite diverse, ranging from dynastic politics that is authoritarian and disrupts the stability of democracy, the level of trust in leaders in this case the government decreases, to the emergence of an apathetic and pragmatic paradigm towards politics itself. In addition, social media, which is used as a forum for modern politics, contains a lot of hate speech and discredits other groups, which can change the existence of civil society. Muhammadiyah seeks to reconstruct on the basis of the Denpasar Khittah in 2002 coupled with offering a social contract to the government and reflecting on its attitudes and policies towards politics so far. Meanwhile, Nahdlatul Ulama is based on the 1984 NU Khittah which contains the principles of decision-making in political matters, along with reflecting on its attitudes and policies towards politics from time to time.

Abstract

Gender equality in Islamic education remains a significant discourse, especially when viewed through the perspectives of influential figures such as Ki Hajar Dewantara and KH. Ahmad Dahlan. This study aims to compare their thoughts on gender equality in education and analyze their relevance in the modern context. Using a qualitative approach with a comparative analysis method, this research examines primary sources, including writings, speeches, and educational practices. The results indicate that both figures emphasized inclusive education, yet their approaches differed: Ki Hajar Dewantara focused on humanist and nationalistic education, while KH. Ahmad Dahlan integrated religious values to promote gender equality. Ki Hajar Dewantara advocated equal educational access for all, emphasizing character development and independent thinking. Meanwhile, KH. Ahmad Dahlan emphasized the role of Islamic teachings in fostering balanced roles for men and women in society. The study concludes that their educational philosophies provide valuable insights for developing an inclusive and egalitarian Islamic education system today.
