Abstract

Competition in the job market has been increasing every year, demanding high-quality human resources who are capable of adapting to rapid changes in the era of Industry 5.0. However, recent findings indicate that many graduates, particularly those from the class of 2024, still lack sufficient work readiness, contributing to a relatively low work readiness rate in Indonesia. Work readiness is a crucial attribute that determines the extent to which graduates can transition smoothly from academic settings into professional environments. One of the psychological constructs believed to influence this readiness is the Adversity Quotient (AQ), which reflects an individual’s ability to withstand, adapt, and grow in the face of challenges and difficulties. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between adversity quotient and work readiness among 174 final-year students of the Psychology Faculty at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study employed a quantitative research design with a purposive sampling technique. The Work Readiness variable was measured using a scale developed by the researcher based on Caballero et al. (2011), while the Adversity Quotient was measured using the adapted Adversity Response Profile scale from Stoltz (2000). Based on the results of product moment correlation analysis, findings show that the adversity quotient has a strong and positive correlation (r = 0.691) with work readiness. These results highlight the importance of strengthening resilience and adversity management skills to ensure that students are better prepared to enter the workforce with confidence and competence.

Abstract

Dating violence or dating violence is a form of behavior that is hurtful or abusive towards a partner in a relationship carried out by one of the parties and the victim of this violence feels physically and mentally injured. One factor that triggers dating violence is family history, where the perpetrator who commits violence has witnessed violence perpetrated by their parents. Authoritarian parenting has an impact on adolescent behavior in committing dating violence. Lack of open communication and overt models of aggression can influence adolescents to imitate these patterns in dating relationships. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between Authoritarian Parenting Patterns and dating violence among students in Pekanbaru with quantitative research methods. The number of samples used in this research was 315 samples using a purposive sampling technique. Based on the analysis results, the correlation coefficient value was 0.391 with a value of (p > 0.05). These results show that there is a significant correlation between Authoritarian Parenting Patterns and Dating Violence among Pekanbaru students. This means that the higher the Authoritarian Parenting Pattern, the higher the Dating Violence, conversely, the lower the Authoritarian Parenting Pattern, the lower the Dating Violence among Pekanbaru Riau students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Loneliness and Parasocial Relationships among Early Adult NCT Fans in West Sumatra. This study used a quantitative method involving 387 early adult NCT fans in West Sumatra. The instrument used for the Loneliness variable in this study was the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale (DJGLS) developed by De Jong Gierveld and Kamphuis (1985) based on Weiss's (1973) loneliness theory and adapted into Indonesian by Triwahyuni, Agustiani, Hinduan, and Ruiter (2025). Meanwhile, for the Parasocial Relationship variable, a scale developed by the researcher based on Tukachinsky's (2010) theory was used. The results of the analysis showed a significant positive correlation between Loneliness and Parasocial Relationships (r = 0.339), with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). This finding indicates that the higher the Loneliness, the higher the Parasocial Relationship experienced by early adult NCT fans in West Sumatra. Likewise, the higher the Parasocial Relationship, the greater the Loneliness experienced by young adult NCT fans in West Sumatra.
