Abstract

The rising role of technology in education has caused a renewed interest in studying interactive educational systems. This study focuses into the usage of the Duolingo platform as an interactive learning tool, assessing its potential impact on language acquisition and engagement among users. The purpose of this study is to evaluate Duolingos performance as an interactive learning tool for language learning. This study integrates a case study approach with descriptive quantitative methods. Several instruments are used, such as questionnaires, activity records, and interviewing. Surveys and student activity logs provide quantitative insights into learning outcomes and engagement among users are analyzed. Moreover, qualitative data gathered from interviews is examined using a thematic approach to better understand user experiences and perspectives. The result of this study shows that Duolingo's integration into traditional educational settings significantly improves participants' motivation and attitudes toward language learning. for about 94.7% feeling more motivated as a result of its engaging elements such as scores, hearts, rankings, and rewards. Duolingo also improving proficiency in listening, speaking, vocabulary, and grammar through personalized and repetitive tasks.

Abstract

With the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we need ti be able to use and deploy it as effectively as possible to avoid misuse. A chatbot is an AI system that simulates human conversation. If used correctly, chatbots could be integrated into the field of education. This study investigated the use and implementation of the PloyAI chatbot to improve the English learning of students in MAN 1 Samarinda. The purpose of the study was to investigate how high school students could be used to further the use of PolyAI in education field. The aim was to provice new perspectives that would enchane the current discussion on the integration of artificial intelligence in education. This study used a quantitative approach with questionnaires and English tests as research tools. The data obtained were analyzed using Statistical package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to discover the relationship between two variables. The results of the study show that the implementation of PolyAI has improved the perfomance of students in English courses.

Abstract

To prevent misuse, it is crucial to utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) efficiently due to its growing prevalence. A chatbot is an artificial intelligence system that imitates human conversation. Chatbots can be used effectively in the field of education when used properly. This research explores the utilisation and integration of the chatbot PolyAI to enhance English language learning for students at MAN 1 Samarinda. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of PolyAI on students academic performance. The aim was to offer fresh viewpoints that enhance the ongoing discussion on integrating artificial intelligence into education. This study utilises a quasi-experimental methodology; pre- and post-test assessments were used in a quasi-experimental research method to examine PolyAI's impact on students' academic achievement. The collected data has been analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to identify the effectiveness of PolyAI on students achievement. The study found that the control group had a lower mean score and greater variation among individual scores, indicating a significant difference in data. The experimental group had a higher mean score and a smaller variation, suggesting more homogeneous and consistent data. The independent sample t-test showed a significant effect of PolyAI chatbot involvement on improving English language skills, indicating a positive effect.
