Abstract

Background: Job burnout is a phenomenon that often occurs in the workplace because of experiencing prolonged job stress. The higher the level of workers' self-efficacy, the lower the probability of job stress and the potential of job burnout experienced by workers. Purpose: To identify the influence of self-efficacy and job stress toward job burnout at a packaging company in Surabaya. Method: It was an analytical observational research with a cross-sectional approach. The respondents of this research were 99 workers in the production site of the packaging company in Surabaya. Questionnaire was used to collect individual data including age, gender, work period, education, and marital status which were related to the respondents' characteristics, while self-efficacy questionnaire was used to gather data about the workers' self-efficacy, HSE Management Standards Indicator Tool for job stress questionnaire, and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) for job burnout questionnaire. Further, simple random sampling was used to draw the sample. The data were descriptively analyzed using related linear regression test. Result: Self-efficacy was proved to significantly influence job burnout in the aspects of reduced personal accomplishment (p-value=0.000), but self-efficacy did not influence job burnout in the aspects of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Whereas job stress was proved to significantly influence job burnout in the aspect of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization or reduced personal accomplishment (p-value=0.000). Conclusion: In sum, all aspects in job burnout were influenced by job stress.

Abstract

The risk matrix can be discovered by first identifying the hazards at the work stages. The cleaning service occupation has a risk of hazards during work. Cleaning service occupation becomes a job which often intersects with biological, ergonomic, physical, chemical and psychological hazards. If these hazards are not handled properly, they can cause work accidents, illness and even fatality. Identifying hazards at work is the initial stage before conducting risk assessment and mapping. The study aims to map the level of risk  in the cleaning service occupation. The study used a quantitative analytical method with an observational approach. Data was collected by doing observation and filling out Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) form. The result reveals several levels of risk appearing in the risk matrix for cleaning service employees. Most of the risk matrix levels seen in the cleaning service occupation are "high risk", and "moderate risk" appears in a small percentage. According to the result, the recommended actions are controlling the hazard through repairing work tools followingthe physiology of cleaning service workers, providing periodic recess on each work shift, socializing regarding the nature and types of materials and how to handle chemicals properly, and providing appropriate PPE facilities for the type of activity occupation.

Abstract

Administrative workers have the potential to experience work fatigue. Fatigue conditions among workers can affect work productivity and can even cause health problems. Work fatigue can be characterized by decreased reaction time. The longer the reaction time indicates that a worker is getting higher fatigue level. Dhikr is a religious activity that can create peace of mind and encourage the muscles in the body to relax. A relaxed body condition will help workers not experience excessive fatigue. This research is a descriptive analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was taken using simple random sampling as many as 70 administrative workers in higher educational institution. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of the dhikr behaviour intensity on the level of work fatigue. The results of the research show that the intensity of the dhikr behaviour does not affect the level of work fatigue among administrative workers in higher education.
