Abstract

Waste issues are crucial , even waste can be said to be a cultural problem because its impact is exposed on many sides of life, particularly in the city of Kupang,East NusaTenggara .According to estimate from BPS Kota Kupang in 2020 up to present time, waste in Kupang is estimate to be 1,0 313 liters/person/day. This is equivalent to 0,277/person/day. The methods use the experimental research design is to investigate the possibility of causal interconnection intervening or using the treatment of one or more experimental groups in the form of iron, aluminium and composite choppers, the result of the research is as follows. Because F arithmetic is greater than F table ( 23,333 > 3,885 and significance < 0,05( 0,000< 0,05),then H0 is rejected. It is also known that there is an average difference between an iron chopper knife (1),an aluminium chopper knife(2) and composite chopstick knife . it can be seen in the descriptive statistic table that the average observation or the highest respondent experiment is the iron chopper knife. The lowest one is the chopper of the composite type. It can be concluded therefore that the better use of a chopper knife will give an added value of garbage chopping speed . this makes easier to cut waste in to small pieces and makes it easy for the next process, particularly the use of iron chopper knife. ABSTRAKPermasalahan sampah merupakan hal yang krusial, bahkan dapat dikatakan masalah kultural karena dampaknya pada berbagai sisi kehidupan. Menurut perkiraan yang diperoleh timbulan sampah domestik berdasarkan data BPS Kota Kupang tahun 2020 hingga sekarang ini di kota kupang rata rata sebesar 1,0313 liter/orang/hari setara dengan 0,277/kg/orang/hari. Metode yang digunakan dengan rancangan penelitian eksperimen yaitu untuk menyelediki kemungkinan saling berhubungan sebab akibat dengan cara menggunakan perlakuan kepada satu atau lebih kelompok eksperimen berupa alat perajang menggunakan besi, aluminium, dan bahan komposit berlapiskan fiber glass. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa karena F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel ( 23,333 > 3,885 ) dan signifikansi < 0,05 ( 0,000 < 0,05 ), maka H0 ditolak dan dapat diketahui bahwa ada perbedaan rata rata antara pisau perajang besi, pisau perajang aluminium dan pisau perajang komposit berlapiskan fiber glass. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa pisau perajang besi lebih tinggi hasil potongan dan terendah adalah komposit berlapiskan fiber glass. Kesimpulannya, bahwa semakin baik penggunaan pisau perajang maka akan memberikan nilai tambah kecepatan perajangan sampah terutama penggunaan pisau perajang besi. Hal ini memudahkan sampah terpotong potong kecil dan memudah kan untuk proses selanjutnya.

Abstract

The selection of local materials in the manufacture of concrete always sought to be used for the convenience of the manufacturing process and the availability of materials. The local material must refer to the terms and conditions that meet the achievement of the expected concrete quality. In this study, materials originating from the Noemuti Quarry, TTU Regency, namely fine aggregate and coarse aggregate, were used as concrete constituent materials with a planned compressive strength target of 25 MPa. Cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm were made and treated for testing to the compressive strength of concrete. The results of the material characteristics test showed that the fine and coarse aggregates fulfilled the terms and conditions of concrete constituents. The results of the unit weight test show that the concrete is included in the normal concrete category because the unit weight obtained ranges from 2200 – 2500 kg/m³. The result for the compressive strength test of the concrete, aged 7 days, obtained a compressive strength of 22.65 MPa. For ages 21 days, the compressive strength of concrete is 25.42 MPa, and for ages 28 days, it reaches 26.67 MPa. Thus, the aggregate from the Noemuti Quarry, TTU Regency, both fine and coarse aggregate, is suitable for making normal concrete with a compressive strength of 25 MPa.
