Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between linguistic intelligence and creative thinking. In addition, this research aims to analyze how linguistic intelligence influences creative thinking. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Serang City, Indonesia. The data analysis method was carried out using regression. The result of this research shows that there is an influence that linguistic intelligence has a significant influence on creative thinking. Linguistic intelligence involves mastery of language, including understanding grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure can form the basis for someone to communicate clearly and effectively and can use various figures of speech, similes, or analogies to make their writing livelier and more interesting. Linguistic intelligence helps connect ideas that may not be directly related, see problems from different points of view, and design strong and interesting narratives. Thus, it can be concluded that linguistic intelligence has an influence on creative thinking and is an important component in the development of innovative ideas and creative problem-solving.

Abstract

This research aimed to provide an overview of how to develop a language attitude instrument to measure students' attitudes towards English, what aspects must be included in the language attitude instrument, and how students' language attitudes towards English. This research is descriptive research that used a quantitative approach. The research was conducted at a state islamic senior high school in Serang City, Indonesia with a total sample of 160 students spread across science, social, and religious departments. The development of language attitude instruments has to pay attention to the components of language attitudes, which are cognitive, affective, and conative components. Based on the data analysis of the results of the validity and reliability test of the instrument, it can be concluded that all items of the language attitude instrument are declared valid and reliable. Furthermore, referring to the description of the language attitude data of students in Serang City, Indonesia, it shows that on average students tend to have positive language attitudes towards English.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskrpisikan sikap bahasa (language attitude) siswa MAN 1 Kota Serang, Indonesia dan mengivestigasi pengaruh sikap bahasa (language attitude) dengan berpikir kreatif (creative thinking). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan menggunakan metode analisis data regresi sederhana. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN 1 Kota Serang, Banten, Indonesia dan penentuan jumlah sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan formula Isaac dan Michael pada taraf kesalahan 5%. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah instrumen penilaian diri (self assesment) dan instrumen tes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan sikap bahasa (language attitude) terhadap berpikir kreatif (creative thinking). Sikap bahasa yang positif, yang mencakup pemahaman dan apresiasi terhadap bahasa sebagai alat komunikasi, dapat memberikan stimulasi dan memfasilitasi kreativitas berpikir. Sikap bahasa yang positif dapat membantu individu lebih percaya diri dalam berkomunikasi dan berekspresi serta mendukung eksplorasi ide-ide baru.
