Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of government spending on human resource (HR) development and its impact on economic growth in South Sulawesi. Government spending in the education, health, and skills training sectors is the main focus of this study, which measures its effect on the Human Development Index (HDI) and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) as indicators of HR development and economic growth. Using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Sulawesi and government reports related to public spending, this study applies a multiple linear regression model to test the causal relationship between these variables in the period 2010-2023. The results show that government spending has a positive and significant effect on HR development, with the education sector making the largest contribution, followed by the health and skills training sectors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompetensi SDM terhadap pengembangan usaha pada UMKM Kuliner Kecamatan Rappocini Kota Makassar. Pendekatan penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif.  Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode dokumentasi, yaitu penggunaan data yang berasal dari data-data yang sudah ada. Pengujian terhadap hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil penelitian  menunjukkan hasil regresi kompetensi SDM sebesar –0,314. Hal ini menemukkan bahwa variable kompetensi SDM memiliki pengaruh negative dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan usaha. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji Fhitung sebesar 24.771 dengan nilai signifikasi 0,016 < 0,05.

Abstract

An analysis of the impact of economic growth, wages, and education levels  on workforce absorption in the regencies and cities of South Sulawesi. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of economic growth, wages, and education level on workforce absorption in regions with low unemployment rates. Additionally, it aims to investigate the influence of economic growth, wages, and education level on employment absorption in regions with high unemployment rates. Furthermore, the study will analyze the sectoral elasticity of the workforce in both low and high unemployment regional groups. This study employs a Panel Regression of Random Effect Model with a Generalized Least Square (GLS) Approach and Elasticity using a five-year panel data from 24 regencies and cities in South Sulawesi. The findings indicate that in the regional group with low unemployment, wages have a positive and significant impact on workforce absorption, while the level of education has a negative and significant impact. In the regional group with high unemployment, both economic growth and educational level have a positive and significant impact on workforce absorption. Additionally, the agricultural sector exhibits the highest workforce elasticity in the regional group with low unemployment, while the trade sector shows high elasticity in the regional group with high unemployment.

Abstract

The role of the government in implementing Good Governance or effective government management is to strive for the improvement of a country's economic growth towards a better direction. Good governance quality will create efficient market mechanisms, hence promoting sustainable economic growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of government governance on economic growth in the ASEAN-6 countries. The data in this study is sourced from the Worldwide Governance Indicator provided by the World Bank. Using cross-sectional data from 6 ASEAN countries and time series data over the period 2006-2020. The best model for panel data regression is the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the findings of this study, it was determined that the variable with no significant impact on economic growth in the 6 ASEAN countries is government effectiveness. Meanwhile, the variables of rule of law, control of corruption, and political stability and lack of violence /terrorism has a significant influence on economic growth in the 6 ASEAN countries.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), Employee Commitment, and Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) on employee performance, with Organizational Trust acting as a mediating variable, among staff of the General Election Commission across South Sulawesi. The study employed both descriptive and explanatory survey methods, using a cross-sectional design. The target population consisted of 448 employees from the provincial and district/city-level General Election Commissions across 24 regions in South Sulawesi. A proportional random sampling technique based on regional distribution was applied, resulting in a sample of 211 respondents, determined through the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of AMOS software. The findings revealed that: (1) OCB significantly and positively influences Organizational Trust; (2) Employee Commitment has a significant and positive effect on Organizational Trust; (3) LMX positively affects Organizational Trust; (4) OCB significantly enhances employee performance; (5) Employee Commitment also exerts a significant positive influence on performance; (6) LMX does not have a direct significant effect on performance; (7) Organizational Trust significantly influences performance; (8) OCB contributes positively to performance indirectly through Organizational Trust; (9) Employee Commitment positively impacts performance through Organizational Trust; (10) LMX exerts a significant indirect effect on performance mediated by Organizational Trust.

Abstract

This study is to find out how the role of street vendors in overcoming the unemployment rate in Gowa Regency (case study of Somba Opu District). The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The results obtained by the researchers are that street vendors in Somba Opu District have a very important role in tackling the unemployment rate, where there are many business opportunities for those who are not accommodated in the formal sector and for those who still have low education where they can actualize by becoming a trader.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas produk dan customer review terhadap minat beli produk skincare merek Garnier pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, dengan sampel yang diambil menggunakan teknik tertentu dari populasi tersebut. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif yang diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden yang berkaitan dengan variabel penelitian. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan kuesioner. Sumber data yang digunakan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala Likert untuk mengukur persepsi responden terhadap variabel kualitas produk, customer review, dan minat beli. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 25, melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, serta analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial (uji t), kualitas produk dan customer review berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Selain itu, secara simultan (uji F), kualitas produk dan customer review juga terbukti berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kualitas produk dan ulasan pelanggan yang positif mampu meningkatkan minat beli konsumen, khususnya pada produk skincare Garnier di kalangan mahasiswa.
