Abstract

Social Sciences (IPS) is an instructive program that has materials Training from different disciplines of Social Sciences and Mankind (Schooling and history) coordinated and introduced logically and mentally with the end goal of instruction in view of Pancasila and Indonesian Culture. IPS too can be said to be a fusion or fusion of various subjects social so in friendly examinations subjects use parts certain from the social sciences. On a fundamental level, social examinations training in primary schools doesn't show the Social Sciences as disciplines, yet rather conceptualizes the quintessence of the Social Sciences to shape understudies into residents productive member of society. Accordingly as a work in character building, So there should be congruity with the way of life of this country. The implementation is not solely carried out in schools through a progression of learning exercises instructing, yet can be held a progression of self-improvement exercises that did beyond school.Habituations in life, For example, strict, genuine, trained, open minded, diligent, harmony adoring, dependable, participation, fair and mindful,it needs to start from the smallest scope such as family up to a wider scope in society. Values This certainly needs to be developed which in the end can shaping the personal character of students which further constitutes a reflection of the life of a nation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of learning media on social science learning achievement in elementary schools. The purpose of managing educational facilities and infrastructure is to regulate and maintain educational facilities and infrastructure so that they can provide the best and meaningful contribution to the educational process, especially in the learning of Social Sciences (IPS). This research was conducted at Parang 5 Magetan Public Elementary School, East Java Province. The research uses qualitative research methods with data collectors such as document analysis, literature studies, interviews and observations. The results showed that inadequate facilities and infrastructure also occurred at SDN Parang 5, Magetan Regency, East Java Province, not a problem with access to difficult places, but seen from the condition of the school which only had 6 classrooms, no laboratory space (0), only 1 library room, 0 practice room, 0 leadership room, 0 administration room, 0 counseling room, 0 student council room and 0 prayer room. With the data on infrastructure facilities, it greatly influences social science learning achievement which is still low achievements and resulted in the accreditation of SDN Parang 5 is B.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how to optimize the role of social sciences in building student character in accordance with the profile of Pancasila in high school. Through qualitative methods involving in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, this study found that the integration of Pancasila values in social science learning has begun to be applied by teachers, although there are still challenges, such as limited time and low student motivation. Project-based learning methods and real activities in the community have proven to be effective in helping students understand and internalize the values of Pancasila. In addition, a supportive school environment and clear school policies play an important role in shaping the character of students. However, barriers such as limited resources and institutional support remain major challenges. The conclusion of this study confirms that optimizing the role of social sciences in building students' character requires a holistic approach, including interactive learning, school environment support, and supportive policies. Thus, Pancasila-based character education can be implemented more effectively to form a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also has a strong character in accordance with Pancasila values.

Abstract

This study explores the contribution of social science learning in the formation of student character based on the Pancasila Student Profile in high schools. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that social sciences, such as history, geography, sociology, and economics, play an important role in instilling Pancasila values, including mutual cooperation, global diversity, independence, and democracy. Teachers use active learning strategies, such as project-based learning and group discussions, to facilitate students' understanding of these values. These findings support a constructivist learning theory that emphasizes student involvement in the learning process. Nevertheless, this study identifies obstacles, such as limited time and resources as well as variations in teacher competence. The research also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between schools, families, and communities in supporting character education. The implications of this study are the need to develop a more contextual curriculum, improve teacher competence, and strengthen cooperation between schools and communities. Social science learning, if applied correctly, can be an effective means to form student character in accordance with Pancasila values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of social sciences in student character education based on the Pancasila Student Profile. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used to collect data through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in several secondary schools in Indonesia. The results of the study show that the integration of social sciences is effective in instilling character values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, diversity, independence, and critical thinking in students. Teachers play a central role as facilitators, linking social science materials with Pancasila values contextually. However, the challenges in the implementation of this program include limited resources, time, and teacher competence. These findings suggest that systemic support, including ongoing teacher training and the provision of adequate resources, is indispensable to improve the effectiveness of this integration. In conclusion, the integration of social sciences in character education based on the Pancasila Student Profile is a relevant and potential strategy in shaping the character of students who have noble character, have social awareness, and are ready to face global challenges. This study provides recommendations for the development of more flexible education policies and supports innovation in character learning in schools.

Abstract

The effectiveness of offline and face-to-face learning provides behavioral changes, its has been reduce during COVID-19 Pandemic. However, this study aimed to look at the challenges of elementary school students in dealing with offline learning after COVID-19 Pandemic. A literature review was used as secondary data in this research method. The data consists of social media, electronic media, and journals from May to June 2022. The analysis technique uses the NVivo 12 plus data processing application, a qualitative document analysis tool with computer assistance. The findings show that the most dominant offline learning challenges after the COVID-19 pandemic are excessive dependence on the internet (35.71%), decreased levels of intellectual and emotional intelligence (28.57%), two-way communication between teachers and students who are lacking (21.43%) and comfort online learning (14.29%). The implications of this research are increasing the literacy of school students, where students can filter useful information through more effective blended learning methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of learning Social Sciences in Elementary Schools. The focus of the research is to look at the social sciences learning apparatus in elementary schools. This research method uses literature studies through bibliometric analysis. Data search uses publish or perish and Vosviewer applications. The data source was obtained from the Scopus database which obtained 217 articles from the year 2013-2022. The research method uses bibliometric analysis with quantitative methods aimed at classifying data, producing representative summaries, and is recognized as a useful approach for analyzing the performance of journals, institutions, authors, and the characteristics of the research topic. The results showed that trend topic mapping in Social Education Learning research over the past ten years has fluctuated, decreasing from 2013-2018 and increasing in the following year when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred so that it reached its peak in 2020 then slumped until 2022 became a challenge for contribution future researchers to find out how far this topic is developed. The trend topic of e-learning research has the potential to be researched in the future. The use of e-Learning was effective during the Covid-19 pandemic in maintaining student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Social Sciences (IPS) in multicultural education after populism and identity politics in Indonesia. Populism and identity politics that occurred during Indonesian politics in 2014, 2017 and 2019 have damaged the harmony of national, state and social life. Even students are also the target of populism and identity politics which can be seen in expressions on social media or hate speech. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with data collection through document analysis, literature study, observation and interviews. The results of the study show that the role, function and position of Social Sciences in schools is very strategic in minimizing the dangers and threats of populism and identity politics that target students in schools. Because the goal of IPS is to make students good citizens, develop critical thinking skills, develop intelligence and social skills, live up to moral values, and be multicultural. This is the strength of IPS in minimizing the dangers and threats of populism and identity politics, and schools and teachers should utilize the power of IPS to improve students' multiculturalism.

Abstract

Social Science Education (IPS) as one of the educational programs in the school environment is faced with the challenge of preparing Indonesian people as a whole who are able to take part in the life of modern society. The general goal of social studies education in schools is the achievement of student learning achievement, which in this case is to create citizens who are able to understand their society and are able to actively participate in the process of change and community development. In order to achieve this, one of them must be supported by adequate learning facilities and learning environments. The goal to be achieved in this study is to find out how much influence learning facilities have on student achievement in social studies subjects in class VII SMPN 38 Medan City.This research uses the explanatory survey method, which is a research method intended to find and develop theories, so that the results or research products can explain why or why certain symptoms or social reality occur. The population in this study was all grade VII SMPN 38 Medan City students totaling 17 students. While the research data analysis techniques used are product moment correlation techniques and hypothesis testing techniques used through t tests. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence of learning facilities on student achievement in social studies subjects in class VIII SMPN 38 Medan City. The resulting correlation magnitude is 0.51. The value is located between 0.40 - 0.599 or medium category. Meanwhile, based on hypothesis testing, it is obtained that the value of t count at the real level of 0.05 is outside the limit of the interval t table (t count > t table = 2.82 > 1.74 or –t calculate < - t table = -2.82 < -1.74). Thus, the hypothesis put forward at the beginning is that there is an influence of learning facilities on student achievement in social studies subjects in grade VII SMPN 38 Medan City is acceptable and has been proven to be true.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social science in character education based on the Pancasila Student Profile (Profil Pelajar Pancasila). In accordance with the demands of the times and developments in people's lives including changes in the education curriculum, social studies learning must be returned in accordance with its latest conceptual framework which emphasizes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary, with contextual and transformative, active and participatory learning in the perspective of social values. using descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection carried out by literature study, observation, document analysis, and interviews. The results of the study show that in the social studies learning process, efforts should be made to include Pancasila values which are also currently in the context of the Merdeka curriculum already summarized in the Pancasila Student Profile which consists of dimensions of faith and piety to God Almighty and noble character, Global diversity, mutual cooperation, independent, creative, and able to reason critically. This is useful for the formation of student personality as a provision for living in society both as citizens and global citizens.
