Abstract

The background of this research is that vertiqua is considered to have high production costs and small profits. Therefore, a business analysis is needed to increase the effectiveness of the fish farming business using the vertiqua system. The purpose of this study is to analyze the aquaculture business using the vertiqua system including capital and profit obtained. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive explanations. The results of the research that has been done show that the R / C Ratio value obtained is 1.66, meaning that every 1 cycle cost expenditure will get 1.66 revenue. Koi fish farming using the vertiqua system is said to be feasible to continue because the R / C Ratio value is 1. The JWPM value with the calculation of 8 cycles for 1 year is 1.4, meaning that it takes 2 months and 2 days for the capital to return. Based on the business analysis conducted, the production of koi fish seeds using the upper biofical filter vertiqua system can be said to be feasible and has the potential to be further developed, because it can provide good profits with a good JWPM. In addition, cultivation using the upper biofical filter vertiqua system is very efficient in providing care for koi fish cultivation.

Abstract

Galah shrimp is one type of freshwater shrimp that has great potential for cultivation. One of the obstacles to the growth of king prawns is water quality. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the installation of Vegetable Floating Raft (VFR) on the growth of king prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). This study was conducted using the t-test method, with control and Vegetable Floating Raft treatments. The results showed that the growth pattern of weight and length of king prawns in each treatment was relatively the same. However, the daily weight growth rate of king prawns in the control treatment was greater at 3.36%, compared to the treatment of Vegetable floating raft at 1.26%, while the daily length growth rate of king prawns in the control treatment was 0.86%. The daily length growth rate in the Vegetable floating raft treatment was smaller at 0.61%. During the study the value of the degree of survival of the control treatment was 95%, while in the treatment of Vegetable floating raft the percentage of the degree of survival of king prawns was 62%. Based on the results of visual observations seen the rest of the feed and the rest of the skin during molting. It is suspected that shrimp are stressed due to changes in water quality characterized by increased ammonia levels in the last maintenance week caused by the death of kale plants in the maintenance medium.

Abstract

Changes that occur in aquaculture are influenced by feeding and water quality, causing changes in the composition, abundance, and structure of plankton communities. Therefore, the presence of plankton can be used as an indicator of aquaculture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of plankton communities in freshwater crayfish farming in fiber ponds. For plankton retrieval techniques in this study were carried out every day at 06.00 for 14 days. A total of 50 liters of water is taken from each pond using a bucket, water collection in each pond is carried out at 5 different points and filtered using planktonet. The types of phytoplankton found in 3 fiber ponds consist of classes Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophycae and Rotifers and consist of 13 species. This type of zooplankton consists of the class of rotifers and consists of 25 genera. The type of phytoplankton that most often dominates is found in Microc species. In zooplankton, the type that most often dominates is Branchiaonus. This makes Microcystis. and Branchiaonus. plays a high role in maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem in fiber ponds. H' values range from 1.2 - 1.5 for E values range from 0.4 - 0.5 and D ranges from 0.3 - 0.5. This shows that the quality of LAT cultivation water is still relatively poor. It is characterized by low diversity and uniformity of plankton and indications of species dominance.

Abstract

The high mortality in crayfish shipping transportation activities is due to the high level of stress during transportation. The handling that needs to be considered is when harvesting and transporting the fry. Poor seed transportation can result in stress to high mortality. Transportation of live crayfish can be done in two ways, namely with a wet system using water and a dry system without using water media. Research to maintain mortality begins with packing procedures starting from placing ice cubes in plastic that has been wrapped in newspaper in each 500ml seteroafoam and then inserting 22 crayfish in each box and then allowed to stand with a predetermined deadline. The first treatment survival rate reached 97% of 66 mortalities of 2 tails, in the second treatment 94% of 66 mortalities of 4 tails, the third treatment 80%, of 66 mortalities of 9 tails. Based on the results of the study, the addition of ice cubes to the packing media for crayfish with living conditions resulted in an average survival rate of 90.3% with the shortest deadline of 30 hours and the longest of 40 hours, thus it can be said that the packing media with the addition of ice cubes has an impact on the survival rate of crayfish.

Abstract

Increasing catfish seed production sustainably is important to meet market needs. One effort to increase seed production is through the degree of egg hatching. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the application of the green water system on the success of hatching sangkuriang catfish eggs. The method used in this study was an experiment with two levels of treatment and 3 replications. The results of the study from the spawning of a pair of parents, obtained an average fertilization rate value produced in the GWS pond of 96.6% and the control pond 97.4%. In addition, the hatching rate showed a difference, with an average in the GWS pond of 90.6% while in the control pond 78.3%. The difference in the degree of egg hatching in the GWS pond can be associated with several factors, such as the availability of higher dissolved oxygen. Dissolved oxygen in the GWS pond is higher through the process of photosynthesis. Chlorophyceae is the most abundant phytoplankton found in the GWS hatching pond. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Green Water System is effective in increasing the hatching of sangkuriang catfish eggs with an HR of 90.6%. This can be an alternative technology that is useful for cultivators to increase seed production.

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater fish that is in great demand by the public because it has a thick meat texture and an affordable price. The problems faced in aquaculture activities are the high cost of feed and the length of cultivation time. Feed is a vital component in aquaculture activities, therefore feed efficiency is needed to minimize production costs. The addition of fermented moringa leaf extract in pellets is expected to accelerate the growth period. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of fermented moringa leaf extract on tilapia growth rate. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) method with 4 treatments, namely the addition of moringa leaf extract to pellets with concentrations of 0%, 25%, 30%, 35%. The treatment was carried out for 28 days. Parameters observed in this study were fish growth including fish length, fish weight, survival rate (SR), food conversion rate (FCR) and water quality in the form of temperature, pH and DO. The data were analyzed using anova and SPSS application. The results showed that the addition of fermented moringa leaf extract with concentrations of 0%, 25%, 30% and 35% in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) feed for 28 days had a significant effect on tilapia growth.

Abstract

The catfish (Pangasius sp.) is a popular freshwater fish among consumers, both in Indonesia and internationally. One of the main challenges in catfish farming is the suboptimal use of feed. The commonly used feed consists of natural and artificial types. Natural feed is divided into two categories: animal-based and plant-based. The animal-based natural feed frequently used by farmers is tubifex worms. However, tubifex worms have a drawback, as their availability in the market is limited. Therefore, a study was conducted to explore the use of Azolla as an alternative feed for catfish. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one treatment and two levels, namely 100% Azolla and 100% tubifex worms. The study was conducted over a period of 14 days. The observed parameters included fish growth (length and weight), survival rate (SR), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and water quality (temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen). The data from the study were analyzed using a mean value test. The results showed that the use of Azolla as feed had a positive impact on catfish growth, although it was not yet effective in fully replacing 100% tubifex worms. There was an increase in biomass of 13.8 grams and an average length increase of 0.56 cm during the 14-day maintenance period.
