Lingkungan boarding school memiliki karakteristik kehidupan yang intens dengan tuntutan akademik, sosial, dan pengasuhan sepanjang waktu, sehingga menuntut kemampuan adaptasi psikologis yang baik dari siswa, khususnya dalam pembentukan self-esteem yang berkaitan dengan rasa memiliki (sense of belonging). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara rasa memiliki dan self-esteem pada siswa SMA Boarding School X. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 113 siswa aktif kelas X–XII yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) dan Sense of Belonging Instrument (SOBI) dengan skala Likert empat tingkat. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan data tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga analisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara rasa memiliki dan self-esteem (ρ = 0,263; p = 0,005) dengan kekuatan hubungan rendah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa rasa memiliki berperan dalam pembentukan self-esteem siswa di lingkungan boarding school, meskipun bukan merupakan faktor dominan, sehingga self-esteem dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor psikososial dalam konteks pendidikan berasrama. Abstract The boarding school environment is characterized by an intensive lifestyle with continuous academic, social, and caregiving demands, requiring strong psychological adaptation from students, particularly in the development of self-esteem related to sense of belonging. This study aims to examine the relationship between sense of belonging and self-esteem among students of Boarding School X. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The participants were 113 active students from grades X–XII selected using total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the Sense of Belonging Instrument (SOBI) with a four-point Likert scale. The normality test indicated that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, Spearman correlation analysis was used. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between sense of belonging and self-esteem (ρ = 0.263; p = 0.005) with a low correlation strength. These findings indicate that sense of belonging plays a role in the development of students’ self-esteem in the boarding school environment, although it is not a dominant factor, suggesting that self-esteem is influenced by various psychosocial factors within the residential education context.
