Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects of personality in human life, "self-confidence is one of the factors for someone to be able to consider and make certain decisions themselves" and self-confidence is also a mental attitude of optimism from the child's ability to solve everything and be able to adapt to the situation faced. Therefore, to foster a sense of self-confidence that is very lacking in students, group counseling treatment is given using the Assertive Training Technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Assertive Training Techniques on the Self-Confidence of Class XI Students of SMAN 1 Labuapi in the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The design of this study used a one group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were classes XI B and XI C with a total of 40 students, and the sample in this study was 9 students who were indicated to have low levels of self-confidence based on the results of the pre-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the t-count value was obtained as (9.756), while for the t-table value with db (N-1) = 9-1 = 8 at a significance level of 5% of (2.306) then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus the conclusion obtained in this study: There is an Effect of Assertive Training Techniques on the Self-Confidence of Class XI Students of SMAN 1 Labuapi in the 2023/2024 Academic Year, so it can be concluded that the results of this study are "Significant".

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services using storytelling techniques in enhancing the empathy of sixth grade elementary school students in East Lombok. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using pre-test and post-test measurements on ten randomly selected participants. The instrument used was an empathy scale covering four dimensions, while the intervention was carried out through story reading and paired retelling activities. Data were analyzed using comparative tests to determine changes in empathy levels after the intervention. The results indicate a significant increase in empathy with an average score improvement of twelve point three. The greatest increase occurred in the perspective taking dimension, followed by empathic concern, imagination, and personal distress. These findings demonstrate that storytelling is an effective guidance strategy for developing students’ ability to understand the feelings of others.

Abstract

Anxiety is one of the most common psychological problems experienced by individuals in post-disaster contexts and can significantly affect mental well-being and quality of life. This condition requires an intervention approach that is not only psychologically effective but also culturally and spiritually relevant. This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic religiosity values within cognitive restructuring counselling techniques as an approach to managing anxiety among post-disaster individuals. The method employed is a literature review using a descriptive-analytical approach to analyse relevant studies on cognitive restructuring and Islamic religiosity, encompassing the dimensions of Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. The integration is conducted through four main stages: identification, normalisation, distancing, and decatastrophising, which are aligned with religious values as a foundation for modifying maladaptive thought patterns. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic religiosity values enhances the effectiveness of cognitive restructuring by providing meaning to traumatic experiences, fostering inner peace, and strengthening self-regulation. Therefore, this integrative approach offers a more holistic and contextual intervention model for addressing anxiety among post-disaster individuals, particularly within communities where religious values play a significant role in psychological life

Abstract

The celebration of Eid al-Adha embodies both strong spiritual and social dimensions through the observance of the sacrificial ritual “qurban”. This community service initiative aims to preserve the culture of “gotong royong” (mutual cooperation) within the community, spanning the entire process from the ritual slaughter to the distribution of the sacrificial meat. The project employed a participatory approach—specifically Participatory Action Research—actively involving all segments of the community from the planning stage through to the final distribution of the meat. The results demonstrate that the sacrificial ritual successfully served as an effective unifying force within the community. The spirit of mutual cooperation was particularly evident during the stages of slaughtering and meat distribution. Celebrations and traditions serve as vital opportunities to foster community awareness, compassion, a sense of togetherness, and the spirit of mutual cooperation. Such observances and traditions must be preserved to ensure the community continues to nurture unity and cohesion, especially in an era where there is a growing preference for instant solutions—such as outsourcing the slaughter to professional butchers or paid, exclusive facilities—which can diminish opportunities for communal togetherness.
