Abstract

This study explores the optimization of the roles of Islamic Education (PAI) and character education teachers in fostering students' religious and moral character in the digital era. It highlights the challenges posed by digital technology, which can influence students' values and behaviors. The research emphasizes the necessity for educators to adapt their teaching methods and integrate digital literacy into their curricula. By employing innovative strategies, teachers can effectively instill strong moral values and religious principles, preparing students to navigate the complexities of modern society. This paper concludes that a collaborative effort among educators, parents, and the community is essential for nurturing well-rounded, ethically grounded individuals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik terhadap hasil belajar Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di sekolah menengah. Motivasi intrinsik, yang berasal dari dalam diri siswa, berperan penting dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ajaran agama. Siswa yang memiliki ketertarikan dan rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi cenderung menunjukkan prestasi yang lebih baik dan mampu mengaitkan nilai-nilai agama dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Di sisi lain, motivasi ekstrinsik, yang melibatkan faktor eksternal seperti penghargaan dan pengakuan, juga mempengaruhi semangat belajar siswa. Penghargaan dari guru dan orang tua dapat mendorong siswa untuk belajar lebih giat, meskipun ada risiko bahwa ketergantungan pada penghargaan eksternal dapat mengurangi kedalaman pemahaman mereka terhadap ajaran agama. Oleh karena itu, keseimbangan antara kedua jenis motivasi ini sangat penting untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang efektif dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PAI siswa. Sekolah perlu menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung kedua jenis motivasi ini dengan merancang kurikulum yang menarik dan memberikan penghargaan yang relevan. Dengan demikian, siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan akademis, tetapi juga mampu menerapkan nilai-nilai PAI dalam kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. This study examines the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on Islamic Education (PAI) learning outcomes in secondary schools. Intrinsic motivation, which originates from within the students, plays a vital role in enhancing student engagement and understanding of religious teachings. Students with high interest and curiosity tend to perform better and are more capable of integrating religious values into their daily lives. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation, involving external factors such as rewards and recognition, also impacts students' enthusiasm for learning. Rewards from teachers and parents can encourage students to study harder, although there is a risk that reliance on external rewards may reduce the depth of their understanding of religious teachings. Therefore, a balance between these two types of motivation is crucial to creating an optimal learning environment. The results of the study indicate that an effective combination of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation can improve students' PAI learning outcomes. Schools need to create an environment that supports both types of motivation by designing engaging curricula and providing relevant rewards. This approach ensures that students not only gain academic knowledge but also apply PAI values in their daily lives.
